Interesting question. I would never have thought about baking cookies for a dog, but then I don’t have a dog

Some vets recommend not giving pets too much food with cereal in it. It can cause what is called hot spots. Dogs in particular can get patches that get hot and itchy. They will either bite or scratch at themselves. II have seen dogs that have actually scratched areas of hair and skin off. Sometimes if you put your hand on the patch you can tell it is hot. If they can reach the area it is likely they will keep licking it too. Some older dogs don’t like their biscuits too hard as their teeth and jaws gradually weaken. You may find that it you leave them a little soft by the time they cool they will be quite hard. Young puppies can only have very small biscuits as they have to learn to chew or they can choke on the biscuits.
You can check the labels on packets of bought biscuits and see what actual food they have in them to get some clues. Some dogs actually like to eat raw chopped or grated carrot. In fact we had a young pup that pulled her own carrots out of the garden and ate them. She must have watched Dad pulling them out. We got her as a 6 week pup in the Jan. and the carrots were always at pulling stage from late July through to early Sept.
She would lie on her belly with the green leaves in her paws and eat from the tip of the roots down. She had been trained that she wasn’t supposed to go on the garden. She had huge areas of lawn to run on. She would pull one and watch towards the house to see if we were watching her. If she thought she was going to be caught she would take it down behind the shed and eat it. She would eat the entire carrot and just leave the leaves. She left her evidence or initially we wouldn’t have known. The amusing part was none of us could never find the spot she had pulled them from. They shouldn’t be given eggs at all (not even cooked) as it is too high in protein and can cause kidney damage.

Oats ,cup stock low salt ,grated carrots & combine ,roll in tubes cut & bake till golden ,ours enjoys these ,sometimes add mince .

my dogs love these
3/4 cup non fat milk
1 tbs baking powder
2 1/2 cups wholemeal flour (I suppose you could substitute oats)
jar apple puree (baby food)
1 cup smooth peanut butter

mix milk apple peanut butter, add flour & baking powder, mix to a stiff dough,
Roll out to 1/4″ thick bake at 170 for 20 mins, turn over & bake further 15
