Hello!

I’m expecting baby number 5 and need to invest in a double pram! What are your recommendations? Thanks!

  • An in front one – doubles are too big for shops!

  • I know this question was from a couple of years ago, but i thought a newer answer wouldn’t hurt any other mums out there asking the same question.
I loved the idea of having a side by side pram as it’s easier to get the kids in and out of it. however, after not being able to get in some shops with just a single stroller sometimes, i decided that i couldn’t do a side by side – it would be too limiting. I mean i wouldn’t have been able to get into any of the shops along my high street with a side by side.

I got a steelcraft strider. It was big, but i was able to get in most doors, and it was sturdy. Very happy with it.

  • My advice to anyone looking at prams – try them in your boot for size – ours only just fits and it has to be put in a certain way otherwise it wont fit! Very frustrating

  • What did you end up getting?

  • i got one from big w. i had 2 children close together. It is a great size to get around with though and pretty light

  • Whatever you get, make sure it’s narrow enough to fit through most doors, or you’ll be constantly getting stuck in doors, aisles, and other tight spots.

  • I would look around and find what feels right for you

  • I had a side by side I found it great cause if the both wanted to sleep they could and can both see everything all the time ..

  • Phil and Ted make a good double pram

  • I think its difficult having to stroll with a double pram with the side by side but the one under one over will work good :-)

  • Wow congratulations, I would go to your local baby shop and try them first as I had a double pram (spent a lot) and wasn’t really the right thing in the end. Also make sure it will fit in your car, or bus in your case!

  • I had three kids in three years we went for a Limo Pram. I liked that it was only one person wide and it has handles that I can change to view my kids and when I want them to sleep I would walk them around the block and look at them through the top cover which had a clear window. Number three loved to ride on the step and I had a seat fitted for her. Very convenient.

  • A friend of mine is having twins and looking at getting a baby jogger city select, rather than a side by side double pram.

  • Steel craft agile, nice and light and easy to fold, and comfy for all ages

  • I’ve bought the Strider Plus which you can add an extra seat to. I only have the one bub at the moment but plan to have another one soon. The extra seat accommodates the older child underneath with new bubba on top.

  • We are about to have our 2nd child and we’re in the same predicament; looking for a double pram. On the top of our list at the moment is the Strider Compact. We have an Agile at the moment and the Compact is basically the same size, with the ability to have 2 seats (or a variety of combinations including seats and/or capsules). We have a Steelcraft capsule to fit the Compact, so we will use the seat + capsule for the first months, then buy a 2nd seat for bub

  • Depending if you want a side by side (valco is good) or if you want a top and bottom one ( there are a lot of prams that are good). Baby kingdom is having sales at the moment. Check online

  • I have a strider plus which has the capability of a second seat . I love it but its a bit on the wide side so maybe try the strider compact

  • I have friends that swear by the limousine style rather than side by side. They are way to wide to fit through doorways and shopping/retaile aisles. Congratulations on twins!

  • I’ve got the Love n Care Twingo. It’s been great for my two girls. Lightweight, easy to push, the seats can face either direction, great storage space underneath. Also fairly affordable compared to some other double prams. Probably the only disadvantage is it does take up a fair amount of boot space. But I’d definitely recommend it :)
