Hello!

My daughter has an allergy to egg and has just started expressing an interest in baking. Before now she wouldn’t touch food that had egg in it as it made her sick. I suggested I could replace the egg with an egg replacement but she was never keen until now. Has anyone used an egg replacement that works? There are a few online but not sure which one is good. Would love to hear from other mums who use or have tried an egg replacement powder.

  • I’ve used applesauce in cakes and brownies. 1/4 cup to one egg. I added a 1/4-1/2tsp of baking powder for the cake to add some fluffiness, but the brownies were great without it. I’ve tried aquafaba and am keen to use it again, as it seems like a waste to tip it down the sink. I used that in a cocktail and it was perfect so I would definitely consider that.
