I had hideous problems with ants, especially when the weather was particularly warm. With a small dog, I had to be careful with using any chemicals, both inside & outside the house. I tried Ant-rid, also the powder that you sprinkle outside, as well as the little “ant-traps” that you stick near where they enter the house. Nothing worked. Best thing that worked for me was an empty 1 litre spray bottle, with 250 ml white vinegar, 750 ml water, and a dozen drops of pure Peppermint essential oil mixed in it. Spray it on the ants and it kills them dead, no chemicals, smells great, and the vinegar is a natural cleaner as well. Good luck!

Thank you both of you, I have tried Antrid and it didnt make much difference, someone said to me there must be a nest near, as at times they are even in the beds…..will try the other thing you recommend.

I find Antrid from the supermarket an excellent solution. There is also a powder form in a large shaker (like a container of talcum power) wish kills ants dead – fast!

ANTRID – go buy it from supermarket, only thing that works!
