Hello!

Has anyone been to Disneyland? Was it expensive for a family? I would love information and advice from people on the costs for: flights, accommodation, food, gifts and other expenses.

  • Did you end up going to Disneyland?

  • nope never been! sounds amazing though, is there one in asia?

  • I always wanted to take our daughter to the theme parks on the Gold Coast, but by the time we could go, she was older and not interested. I’ve never been to Disneyland because I’m afraid of flying.

  • Been there a long time ago.I found the best way to see it is to go to 1 section only a day. That’s if you are spending time there.Once in that section stay there and just see it all.Best places I saw was Its a small world,Bear country, tomorrow land,African jungle, the show that has Abe Lincoln and if still want more stay for night parade.Best to get tickets prior [if possible] to going but then remember the seasons are reverse to us.Summer here is winter there.Best way to get there is to do a package tour as all costs are included. Most important thing is to keep eye on pockets and other things you carry.Others are very good at taking them and you don’t know it.VIP go and have fun

  • I wish I could have taken my kids to Disneyland. It was always out of our price range and one of those things where you say “Wait til they’re older……just a little older.” Then they’re too old :/

  • Yes I would look out for sales and package deals as well!

  • 18 mth old is passionately in love with mickey & still too young. 18 yo, too old. 1 day is never enough, try to go mid week & not during their school holidays. First time we went to supermarket, could find rolls, couldn’t find rice crackers, ended up with cheese in a can & crackers. They ended up in the bin & we bought burgers, chips & drinks. The stress of trying to save $20 by trying to find ways to buy the food, store the food, carry the food, eat the food is just not worth it. Your only there once- or twice, live the experience & budget for it. There is so many things to do while your there, don’t go just for DL, Google & sign up to the newsletter sites that will get you great coupons & ideas about best places to stay. Often it worth it to get driven around than to hire a car, so check all your options.
I’m sure there’s a way to contact me if you want more info, I have lots!

  • We booked ours throught Flight Centre they were fantastic. We paid extra and stayed at a resort in Disneyland but there are many cheaper options for accommodation within close walking distance to disneyland.

  • yes talk to your travel agent as well

  • Thanks Moms and thanks CURLYTOPS for your answers, most helpful. :)

  • Keep an eye out for sales and package deals

  • You can get package deals where it is hotel, flights entrance tickets etc all in one price which is defiantly worth looking at. It also depends which disneyland you are going to. If you go on the disney website they are often doing deals for entrance tickets and also for their own hotels, it is cheaper not to stay in a disney hotel and there are plenty of hotels to choose from. I booked the entrance tickets direct through their website and got a good deal for disneyland and California adventure something like pay for 2 and get 3rd day free.

  • Thanks mom71809 for your answer, rather shocked that people would ‘drop’ their kids off and go! :(

  • Only been to euro disney when I was single. I have heard they had to put the admission price as people were dropping off their kids in school holidays (leaving them unattended for the day) as it was cheaper than holiday care!

  • no. look these deets up online.
