You need to arrange to speak to the teacher and take your son with you.
If the child is bully in general it needs to be dealt with before a child is injured physically. The emotional/physological issues need to be dealt with. Your son may want to have help too. Some schools have very good staff that talk to the children in private about issues. They have various “titles” at schools. Some call them School Counsellers, some Teachers Aides, and some call them Buddies. A know a lady that does this part time at one school and reckons some of them are “a bit tricky”. Some children are shy and take a few short sessions before she is able to get them to talk properly about the issue. She is very dedicated and doesn’t give up until the issue is resolved.
I’ve just watched a doco on the effects of bullying, it was horrific seeing children so damaged they take their own life (1 boy was only 11 :,() or use guns to inflict pain on others. Always be supportive, talk to them about it and how it makes them feel, then help deal with guise feelings. If it’s happening at school, approach the teacher or principal and talk about it. Maybe invite the bully over fir a play date. If it’s only school bullying and this doesn’t stop it, put him in a different school. It’s a tragedy the bullying of today’s kids and the affect it has on them. Act now, begins its too late
Let him know that he needs to tell the teacher when it is happening. Maybe try assertive techniques like standing tall and saying ‘go away’ or ‘no’ very loudly too.
If it s at school talk to your head master if they do nothing remove him from the school or report it to the school board he is to young to be dealing with bullies
I couldn’t get anything done about bullying, it was like beating my own head against a brick wall, we even changed schools, my daughter was just a normal kid but it just kept happening.. We now home school. I just read that home schooling in NSW is up 65%. I guess we weren’t the only ones fed up with the system. Good luck.
I feel for you and your little one. If it’s something new I’d talk to teachers, principal but if this has been ongoing change schools or home school. More and more parents seem to be choosing the latter. There are some really great resources.
We went through this it kept happening we end up changing schools happiest we have ever been. At only five this is he way I would go … School is really ment to be an happy place if he does not want to go now because of a bully what waits for tomorrow I would be looking at asking to teachers or changing schools that’s the last thing schools want you to do as they get funding for each child….
Long story short, I home school my 2 older kids (9 &6) now and our family has never been happier. There was a lot of reasons but mostly it was a mixture of bullying, not being happy with the school system, my child falling behind that prompted the decision. But we haven’t regretted a moment of it.
