  • Indoor plants can be fun but making sure they get enough filtered light and aren’t kept in a room that gets too hot during the week when you’re at work. My study kills anything that goes in there as the morning sun over heats the room if I’m not in there with a fan on. I also find giving my plants a small fertilizer stick each month and putting them in the rain occasionally cheers them up a lot.

  • I find my plant collection is hit and miss. Some survive for years and others don’t make it past a month. I am no expert but I do wonder if perhaps they aren’t getting the right light and either too much or not enough water.

  • I have/ had the same problem. And I gave up. No more indoor plants for me.

  • I currently have over 350 green babies throughout my home, so the answer to your question could be a multitude of reasons. More often than not, it’s likely due to either over watering or under watering. But there could be other reasons also, such as the soil quality or pests etc. Water propagation is worth a try, if you think it might interest you? I do both soil and water for plants and I definitely prefer water over soil.

  • You might want to check the soil you are using – I find it helpful to get advice from Flower Power or Bunnings experts

  • There’s a lot of apps out there that help diagnose plant diseases and any issues with your plants which may come in handy here!

  • Plants are more difficult to raise than children in my opinion lol. You’re either:
    – over-watering
    – under-watering
    – giving it too much care and love
    – not giving it enough care and love
    Final advice: goodluck!

  • I always follow the instructions, don’t over water and my plants always seem to die. Bunnings has a great policy that if your Bunnings plant dies within 12 months they will refund or replace it for you.

  • Maybe a virus or bug is affecting all the plants.

  • Maybe ask a horticulturist for suggestions? It might be something like them needing fertiliser.

  • Maybe check on the condition of the soil too?

  • It could depend on the type of plants, and if they have enough space for the roots to grow. I’d have a look at the type of plants you have, and do a search to see what each plant needs. Good luck.

  • I know how you feel. I have the same problem. I even kill succulents which they say you can’t kill them.

  • Might be worth checking the soil quality and ph levels. Because the soil is contained in pots if there was something that contaminated the soil (maybe explains why all pot plants were effected), it would be captured and “held” in the pot which may have impacted the plants.

  • All plants have different likes and dislikes. It could be the position, water level, fertiliser, soil, pests, temperature, etc. There are loads of variables. If it is happening to lots of your plants at once and suddenly -then it maybe something that you have used on all of them or if they are indoors, it may be the temperature or a product that you are using. Best of luck working it out.

  • Are they indoor or outdoor ? Make sure to follow the caring instructions. You could take one or more of the plants to a nursery and seek advice. Sometimes it can be a type of lice what spread over several plants

  • I gave up on plants years ago. All mine were dying too. No advice from me sorry.

  • It’s odd that so many of them are dying at the same time. Maybe some product you have used such as plant food may be having an adverse reaction. I hope your plants can be saved.

  • Check they are not in the direct flow of a heater, fan or air con.

  • Try moving positions
