I’m still experiencing menopausal hot flushes and I’m very frustrated by them. They are not letting up at all. I’m considering going to my gp and having hormone therapy.
I’ve been having hot flushes due to menopause. I recently read of 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water daily helps to reduce them. If there’s no change after a couple of weeks, up the dose to twice a day. The vinegar needs to be the one that includes the mother for optimal health benefits. I’ve only been trying it for 3 days so can’t report on if it’s working. It’s also supposed to be good for B.O. Wiped in the arm pits and left over night. I haven’t tried that one yet, but I’m planning to
Some months ago I suffered of hot flushes too. The GP prescribed me hormonal exams and told me I am in menopause (I am 51). But after 4 months without periods, I started menstruating again. And the hot flushes disappeared. They were quite annoying, in particular during the night. So I went to bed with a very light shirt. I took magnesium one hour before going to bed, but I don’t think it helped much.
I too was going to suggest menopause and was hoping also to read some advice as I am going through that wonderful time of life. i will try the sunflower seeds as I do like them anyway. I would still go to the Doctor and get things checked out as they can be symptoms for other problems too especially if you are not at that age.
You should make an appointment to discuss it with yr GP. They will be able to organise blood tests to check for infection & hormone levels. You don’t mention yr age but old women suffer hot flushes as a result of menopause, could also be related to pregnancy & other issues such as thyroid levels.
I suffer hot flushes badly partly from menopause but mostly because I had a brain injury that left me me with a list of things that no longer work but I won’t go that other to say that it affected my ability to control my body temp & caused thyroid problems.
There are many reasons for hot flushes & all I can say is wear whatever is comfy for you for bed until you can talk to a doctor about it & if it is really affecting yr partner perhaps use a spare bed till you can find out what is causing it. I am fortunate that I am single so it doesn’t affect anyone’s sleep but my own & I wear light clothing for bed even in winter & have a hand towel close for when I do wake up hot. I also have a fan in my room but that might affect yr partner, perhaps have 1 on yr side of the room?
Do sunflower seeds have magnesium in them? Because I was told almonds are good for hot flushes, along with ground flax seed. That’s for menopausal hot flushes anyway. I haven’t tried so can’t say if they help or not
I was also hoping to see some answers. I don’t know if this will help you with your hot flushes but many years ago when I was pregnant one of my work mates was going through menopause so we were both were having hot flushes. We found that eating sunflower seeds helped with the hot flushes.
Darn, I was hoping to read some answers from people who might help. I’m going through menopause at the moment, causing my hot flushes and night sweats. If you’re not at that age, I would go see your gp because it could be an underlying health issue causing this
