How can I encourage my son to wear glasses?

Hello!

I’d love some ideas about how to encourage him to wear his glasses when he gets them – anything that has worked well for your children to help with the transition. He will need to wear them all the time.

I wonder if the wiggles song “got my glasses on” will help. Depending on the age of your son. Their broccoli song got my daughter eating brocoli

Show him pictures of famous people, maybe one of his heroes? Show him other people wearing glasses. Make a fuss of him when he puts them on. Straps to help him keep them on. Tell him they gave special magic powers of some sort…..

Show him pictures of other kids wearing glasses-maybe someone in the public arena that is a role model. A reward chart is always a good idea too!

perservere! get him the straps that will keep it on or get him a chain. The straps would be better for his age. Practice with sunnies and try to get him used to it.

How old is your son? We have a toddler and anything we want her to wear ie hat we make a big fuss of her and say how pretty she looks and smile at her. Obviously this wouldn’t work with an older child though!
