My now 5 year old has never been good at going to bed at night since birth. She used to take long day naps but not for 3 1/2 yrs now. It’s 10:30 and she is still getting up and now she has added defiance to the equation. We have a the same bed time routine daily, she does all the necessary things before bed (toilet, drink etc), we don’t feed her a heap of junk food, she gets plenty of exercise. She is otherwise a very normal happy kid. This nightly routine is the single most disruptive thing in the life of our family. She shares a room with her sister usually, and at the moment with my husband and I (we are living overseas in tight accommodation) but this hasn’t made things worse. If anyone has any other ideas, I would be glad to try anything at this point.
