Hello!

He has been toilet trained since 3 y.o (had a full on year with lots of big events so not an ideal start). He started school this year and is still having a few accidents a week. They are small but they smell and he doesn’t seem to care. He tells us he doesn’t know he’s had one. We are seeing a pediatrician but waiting for next appointment after tests came back clear. We have done rewards which only work for a short time. We remind him, his teacher reminds him. I’m at my wits end and don’t know what else we can do. I don’t want him to be that smelly kid at school.

  • Can you see a continence nurse?

  • Was he tested for Diabetes at all? or only an infection? Is he scared because you or somebody else has been watching him when he does a wee. I know a little girl who wet herself because she was scared of somebody who sometimes watched her. Has he been teased by other boys at some time? Does he go at morning recess time and lunch time? Do they have a break during the afternoon. 5 year old kids don’t have the ability to “hold on” like older ones do. Is he too frightened to ask if he can go during lessons?
