I usually put it in stir frys but that’s not really hiding it lol.
I guess you could put it in a food processor and mix it into whatever it is you’re cooking.
When the kids were smaller i made little broccoli pies without crust. Just boil/steam the broccoli and in the mean time fry an onion with some garlic, drain the broccoli, add eggs, some pepper salt and pesto and blend together, add onion garlic and some parmesan and stir (add some grated cheese on top if you like) and bake in the oven. My kids and many kids that came over the floor loved and love it.
Definately baked (with some butter when serving) or as broccoli and cauliflower cheesy bake. That said I tell Mr 4 it will makw him tall like a tree esting mini trees and that does thr trick for boiled in our house.
The thing about broccoli is if you cook it too long it tastes worse, I steam mine and only until just cooked. You may find if you grow it fresh it will taste amazing and if you try organic is good too. My teenage son likes to dip his in chilli sauce but maybe younger kids can find some sauce to dip it in. Otherwise chop it up really small and use as a garnish on other food.
Blend it up in a fruit smoothie. Broccoli and banana tend to go well together.
Or in a broccoli, potato and carrot bake also might work well with cheese sauce.
My younger ones will eat it as rice. In our house we serve green and white rice AKA grated cauliflower and broccoli. The frozen ones are little trees with cheese sauce otherwise it is hidden in their meals. Some of my older children when younger loved it baked with French onion soup mix and oil rubbed over it. They will also eat Brussels sprouts the same way baked.
Most shops buy broccoli that has been let grow too big and it spoils the flavour of it. A relative of mine had a smart idea. She managed to get some with smaller “heads” and called them “green trees”. She put cheese sauce on them when she served them. The only way her son would eat cheese was in cooking so it achieved 2 things. Cauliflower they named white trees and served it with cheese sauce too. Sometimes it is better to use frozen broccoli. It tends to be smaller pieces and would have been fresh straight from the grower to the processing factory. More nourishment that so called fresh which has been stored in a coolroom for weeks.
I steam it and offer it with other veggies. My 1 year old happily eats anything but my 3 year old is fussy. I just keep offering it on his plate and don’t force it when it’s like that. Otherwise sometimes I just grate it into bolognese sauce and he’s none the wiser
