Hello!

Can you please ask how other mums get their kids to take medicine? I’ve tried everything such as juice or bribery but no luck. She will even hold it in her mouth then spit it out. Please help! How do you get your kids to take medicine?

  • You don’t share the age of your child ?
With babies and young toddlers you can consider giving medicine in the form of suppository

  • I commiserate, my three year old screams and kicks at the sight of a Panadol syringe. We have to force it in sadly, there is no nice way around it if it’s a serious need. With tablets, we’ve found hiding in ice cream works, no one says no to ice cream!

  • Mine just love the taste of it it’s terrible. Can you get a nicer tasting one?

  • I remember my mum used to crush tablets up for us and mix them with sugar and feed it to us like that.

  • I must be very lucky. My son will suck the last drop out of the syringe!

  • use the syringe and put it in the corner of her mouth and then hold her mouth until she swallows

  • You can get a plastic syringe to administer liquids, and bribery works wonder!

  • can u mix it with juice?

  • Depends on what age they are too, how old is your child?

  • A lolly after she takes her medicine would help

  • Tough one. Bribe works for me. Lol

  • I really think that the vita gummies is an excellent idea, as REDSAGE said use it as a Medicine Lolly, good luck ;-)

  • I find that liquid medicine rather than tablets is easier my little boys 5 an won’t take tablets but if I use liquid in a syringe he will have it but only with a juice or cold drink afterwards, try that good luck =)

  • My grandma aslways crushed it and put it into a spoonful of honey- as stupid as it sounds it just tastes like honey!

  • My 5 year old daughter won’t take medicine willingly, so I give her a sip of juice straight after it followed by a vita gummy, or a lolly, works nearly every time.

  • We might do it cruel but when they don’t want to swallow we hold their nose and they have to swallow to get a breath, then we give them juice or something to take away the bad taste

  • Sometimes there is no option but to force it down. Some medication you cant mix with milk or juice so this really makes it hard. Wish they had all medicines tasting nice.

  • Good luck with it. My sisters kids won’t take medicine, but my kids will

  • Chase it with a vitamin gummy and call it a “medicine lolly”. Works for us!

  • When My Son was in Royal Childrens Hospital he had to take some gross medicine and lots of it they mixed it with strawberry topping to help him.
