If your bub is big enough try pull ups so much easier when they just want to move lol.. Or put their favourite tv show on – that normally keeps them still for a few minutes…

I actually learned to change him while standing up while they are busy drawing or playing with a toy, speaking to him first and saying we have to change the nappy now before starting.

For that age I just got really inventive and changed bubs nappy while he was flipped, nappy pants can help too although the I found tab nappies actually helped the situation. Other option is to wash bubs bump in the sink first (which is gentler on baby’s bum than wipes anyway) and then pat dry with towel and then put bubs nappy on after. Good luck! It won’t last long

Give Bub a toy or a blanket to play peak a boo with

the panty nappy style are easier to use if your bub big enough,something in hands that baby can play with, or sing a nursery rhyme to keep attention , worth a try,say I

My nephew drove us all batty with this!
In the end it was having a chat with his big brother that kept him still!
Unfortunately big brother was not always on hand so we also tried singing to him which also worked.
You can also try a variety of toys or if you have another person on hand get them to have a chat with bubby while you quickly get them changed.
Hopefully this phase passes quickly for you.

Ahh my baby has just got to this stage I give her a different rattle each time (they are ones that stay next to the change table so they are “new” toys)… And then change her as fast as I can!!!

I had 3 toys that we alternated – 1 per week. Now he likes holding the nappy cream container. I tried nappy pants but I found them a lot harder to remove soiled nappies without it “spilling” out so I swapped back to nappies as I never had a spill from them.

My son drives me up the wall like this too, I found that if I hand him the nappy or a small toy to hold (or if I have nothing my phone ends up being given) he lays still just long enough to change him.

There is no true way to keep baby still whilst nappy changing. However a few things can help. A hanging mobile over the change table, an interesting toy or a helpful sibling.

That’s a hard one. May not be helpful but are you changing on a change table? If not, that could be your solution.

My sister had someone recommend that she put a mobile over the change table for her baby. She did it and I did it too with my baby. It’s a great distraction! As they get older, little toys/ books/ odd knick knacks that are safe for them to investigate.

My son was an absolutely wriggly worm at change time.
All I have to do now is give him his favourite book (has pictures of cars). Since giving it to him, we’ve never had a change time problem

I know you have given him toys to his attention divert, but get a squeaky toy, do it few times so he get;s the idea (all quickly learning at this age my dear) then give it to him he ill start trying already, so also have your nappy ready to put on and hopefully it is done before his attention span is gone. I have to sing to my 8 month old big wriggly worm. He likes the song
‘Open shut them open shut them…. Give a little clap… Etc etc” and I sing really loud while making faces- it distracts him enough to lay still and stare at me lol lol

I use a toy specifically for change time, always the same toy and an interesting one with lots to look at, touch, okay with. Makes noises or something. Just trying to distract them from moving

good luck with this one, i always just lightly put my hand on the baby while changing the nappy, this worked for me. This way you are aware if baby starts to roll.

I don’t think there is an easy way although I do remember kind of playing wrestling with my leg over the boys to hold them still and getting good at changing them standing up

Keep ‘special’ toys near the change table, ones he doesn’t use every day, bring them out at change time. New toys will hold his attention…..for a bit, then you need to do nappy change asap. Lol
