Anyone have any tips on how to stop nappy bucket’s from smelling so bad between washes (when it’s storing dirty nappies)?

  • Bi – carb and or eucalyptus oil may help

  • Try cutting a lemon in half n sitting in there. That’s what u do if the fridge smells.absorbs oders

  • Diluted dettol or eucalyptus oil is great, you can just spray it in the bucket a few times a day.

  • Rinsing the nappies before putting them in the bucket is also a good idea

  • Yeah u can throw it in the bin lol

  • Bicarb will do the trick. a bit of it everytime.

  • I would wash them more often.

  • Seal the bag hat the individual nappies are in

  • make sure you tie the nappies in a plastic bag before putting in the bin.

  • I’m guessing you might be dry-pailing.. I usually use eucalyptus oil to take care of nasty smells around my home.. A lot of people are suggesting bicarb, which I have also used in the past and it works. Vanilla is also good for getting rid of smells

  • I use disposable nappies and the nappy bin I use has a bi-carb filter on the top. It really does eliminate the odours, and would work on cloth ones too

  • I was actually interested in these answers too – Bi carb sounds familar 🙂

  • a sprinkle of bicarb soda every time you pop a nappy in

  • You can get odor absorbers that tape to the lid. They last ages you just put them in the sun to refresh. You can also get special pail powder but bicarbonate soda works well. You could also use a couple of drops of lavender, peppermint essential oil. E careful soaking modern cloth nappies to often. They do get wrecked. But my old school cloth gets soaked all time, I use sensitive eco store or planet ark nappy soak.

  • Bicarb soda is known to absorb smells so you could give that a go.

  • I make sure I have rinsed the nappies really well, and I use any type of nappy soaker and add a few drops of essential oils, eucalyptus is a good one. 🙂

  • Eucalyptus oil -a few drops -but keep out of kids reach it’s very poisonous if swallowed. And wash daily or second daily.

  • Make sure you have good Nappy San in the bucket and always rinse the nappies before soaking. Aid in the smell a little

  • also use disinfectant and wash more often 🙂

  • nappy sand works great 🙂
