As a consumer, I tend to be a bit suspicious of businesses that advertise on social media – so many of them seem to be scams that I avoid a business that I only see through that channel.
That’s how my business got kick started I joined many groups that related to my business and got many friends from this gave free advice and now my business is small but has increase dramatically and I’m looking at expanding into other areas. I found the friends I made on the pages helped to get my clients good luck.
Facebook is a very popular and effective medium for businesses not only to advertise but also to get feedback. When I started a ladies clothing home business I added pictures of all the designs with available sizes and the comments enabled me to make considerable sales. My contacts and customers increased and a weekly give away or competition added to the popularity of my page.
Facebook is probably one of the best to start out with. Think of how many people are on it daily even if you share things just through your friends, the sharing is endless as they share with their friends, like your posts etc.
I live in an area where word of mouth is vital! We have a community board on facebook and businesses are free to post on it and residents are encouraged to leave feedback. Go for it. It costs nothing and is followed
