Did they outgrow it before they learned to sit?

  • All three of mine were around the 3-4 month mark

  • My daughter was four months old when I moved her from her cradle in my room into her cot in her own room.

  • My eldest son moved to the cot at 4.5 months and my youngest was around 4 months

  • My little one was out around the ti e he could sit up and when it was convenient we got him a cot it was great

  • Our daughter was around 5mths and she simply grew out of it. Our son was a light sleeper so he got kicked out of our room and the bassinet by around 2mths. It depends on the child.

  • 3-4 months, this helped transitioning into the cot easier I found. As much as you don’t want them to grow up so quickly.. it helps them with independence.

  • 3-4 months. Bub didn’t like it!

  • Our daughter grew out of the bassinet at about 4.5 mo this before she was sitting up. Luckily she transitioned to the cot fairly easily!

  • Our daughter grew put of our bassinet at 5 months, before she was sitting up.

  • My daughter was 58cm at birth and 9pound 7 oz so outgrew long before sitting up.

  • Our son is 3 months and still sleeping in it (it’s a really long bassinet and he is already 66 cm). He will fit in it until he is 80-85 cm so probably about 6 months old, at that point I don’t think he’d be sitting unassisted. I read that it happened more around the 9 months mark.

We are starting to move him in his cot because he is too noisy at night and it seems that we are the one waking him up by moving too much in bed.
We are hoping that without us to disturb him he will sleep better.

  • Our daughter was in one till 5 months she had grown out of it.

  • I think it was about 6 months for both my babies.

  • My daughter slept in a cradle for four months in our room before moving to a cot in her own room.

  • It really depends on your baby and your situation. My first I kept in my room in a bassinet for 6 months. My second it was only about 6 weeks as he was a big boy and also a very noisy (lots of mucus so would almost snore) so I didn’t get much rest. Once I put him in his cot he settled and seemed to like it better. My third I had no room so stayed for a lot longer and I also breast fed for longer so made more sense to be next to me.

  • probably only about 3-4 months for my boys. After that into their own room, and they’re now great sleepers.

  • We put our baby straight into a cot but friends of ours used a bassinet. Their babies slept in the bassinet for 5 – 6 months. Once your baby tries to sit up you have to put your baby in a cot. It also depends on the length of your baby and how sturdy it is.

  • mine only 2-3 months because they seemed to grow out of it too quickly. but when I first put them in a cot I got the sleep aids to keep them snug.

  • I used the bassinet just for a couple of months, during the night, while moving my daughter from the bed in her bedroom to our bedroom after feeding her. Otherwise she slept in her own big bed.
