  • If you have any concerns go see your GP. Mine went for 2 weeks ish after stopping BF the first time, and after my second, it was 9 days ish.

  • I would always ask a GP if uncertain. Mine was pretty normal.

  • Yes, mine took a while to get back into a regular pattern. I was having 3-4 week periods for months. Doctor said it was normal.

  • Just under 2 weeks, but its different for everyone x

  • I got my period about 7 months after birth but was still breastfeeding, it lasted about 7 days and was heavy, but as one of the other ladies suggested if you are concerned you should get checked by your GP,

  • From memory my first one was shorter but friends definitely had longer ones!

  • I would book in to see your GP if this wasn’t normal for you pre-pregnancy.

  • I was still pumping at 10 months post partum when I got mine and I also had a c section! Guess everyone is different

  • My first one came back while I was still breastfeeding my 6 month old. I assume it may have been brought on by the reduction in breastfeeding associated with starting my little one on solids.

  • My first one ended up having problems. Saw the Dr and he gave me medication that was supposed to stop it – it didn’t. I ended up having surgery to scrape my lining.

  • For most Mum’s, the first period after giving birth and stopping breastfeeding is heavier, with increased bleeding and cramping. Whilst this can be quite uncomfortable, it is completely normal. However, if you are needing to change your pad or tampon every hour do not hesitate to contact your Doctor.

  • Mine was about 7 days

  • It can be. It’s really different for everyone, but it is normal for the first one to either be longer or even shorter than normal.
