Hello!

I am not sure how many newborn nappies I will need each week and how many weeks bub will be in newborn nappies for before moving on. I would also appreciate any input into what wipes and nappy brands worked for you.

  • That is impossible to give a stock standard answer to as all babies differ. Just get a few packets and buy more as you need them

  • My baby was breasted He then needed 7 nappies a day so that’s 49 a week I used huggies nappies and wipes when he was onths old I switched to the Woolies branded wipes and nappies

  • I love the Costco wipes and Bub was in newborn nappies for about 3 weeks. We went through 1 Huggins box.

  • We used about 6-8 nappies a day until they were three months old, as we were changing every 3-4 hours. We found Huggies to be the best while they were so little as they were nice and snug on them and didn’t leak if the nappy was left on a bit longer overnight. We also used Huggies wipes in the first three months as we found them the softest and easiest to use to wipe off number 2’s – which there is a lot of in the first three months! After three months we switched to cheaper nappies – baby love, Aldi, smugglers etc- during the day but stuck with Huggies overnight

  • From what I remember it was close to a box/box and a half per week as I was changinging her every three hours as told by maternity nurse.

  • They midwives say around 10 wet nappies a day.

We went through about 8 a day.

I found babylove nappies for infants the best, they also have a cut out for the umbilical cord and wet sensor strip for newborns.

I found baby solutions from Kmart or dymples brand to be the best wipes for my baby.
-She broke out when we used Huggies wipes.

    Hope this helps.

  • Initially I think we went through about 6-8 a day. But this reduces after about 3-4 weeks. Then it was around 4-5 a day. I didn’t change nappies overnight (unless a poo of course), but I know a lot of people do.

  • I would say a nappy change with every feed up until 10pm. After that time my babies weren\’t changed when fed and very quickly all 3 of them at the age of 4 to 6 weeks slept through to 5am… All of them were breast fed too!!!

  • .. with newborn. I must say Huggies are the best and less accidents happens in them. I used vetween 7-11 id day for both my kids in a day.

  • I used two big Huggies boxes of newborns then moved up to infant. I use huggies as they have the dry layer and don’t smell. Also my little one doesn’t get nappy rash from huggies. I also like their wipes as they’re soft, moist and absorbent. I find the cheaper ones rough and dry. Every baby is different though.

  • We used about 8-10 a day and found that huggies and Aldi brand were the best for our Bub. She is a small Bub so was still in newborn size until about 3 months. I’ve since found the baby love brand is just as good.

  • I used between 6 -9 nappies a day when my baby was newborn. I used babylove & Huggies but prefer babylove as they seem to absorb well. I also buy Aldi nappies and they are good as well. I use Woolworth once upon a time wipes and dymples wipes from Big W.
Although it depends on each bub, my baby stayed in newborn nappies until she was 3 month.
    All the best to you.

  • Depends on bubs movements, while very young i found huggies to be fantastic as they have a wetness indicator on the which changes colour as nappy gets wetter. I have found although they are more expensive they have the best holding in and leakage protection from the explosion stage of bubs runny tummy movements. Especially at night. during the day you can opt for a cheaper brand due to having more nappy changes.
Also the Coles comfy bots wipes are cheap but fantastic they really do clean. And if you by a box of them they are only $10 for 6 packets and they last quite a while no need to worry about running out. Beware of some wipes your finger go straight though them so the more expensive brands really are not any better than the cheaper ones they all do the job.

  • I used between 8 to 10 nappies a day. This includes nappies that were soiled during a change. I used aldi nappies and babylove nappies( when on a half price special). Wipes, dymples from big are my favourite.

  • You will be surprised how quickly you go through nappies. I would say around 6-8 nappy changes a day. My babies grew out of the newborn nappies very quickly too, so I would buy too many until bub is born. If you do buy heaps and bub does grow out of them, most shops should let you exchange them for a bigger size if they are unopened. I personally use the Woolworths once upon a time nappies and wipes. The wipes are fabulous, really moist and strong and much cheaper than other brands. I have also heard good things about Aldi nappies and wipes as well.
