  • We try to do something nice with the kids a couple of weekends per month, like a movie, bowling or put put. And we may go out for dinner with birthdays a couple of times a year, but not always

  • Not much really. We only eat out for special occasions eg birthdays.

  • Only eighty dollars a month. I use coupons for Hungry Jacks that saves a lot of money. I don’t buy coffee or other drinks when out, we just have water. I don’t order entres or dessert if eating at an Asian restaurant, for example. Noodles are a delicious and cheaper menu item to choose when eating out.

  • Yes we do go out for dinner at least every 2weeks -1 month! about $60.00 each time

  • depends on how much money spare we have for the fortnight and if there is a special occasion coming up. if i see bargains i tend to buy and stock up, and once a month i do a special outing to the movies. i guess it depends on how much you can afford and can justify. there is no right or wrong answer.

  • We budget for entertainment, but ‘entertainment’ includes the kid’s weekly activities like swimming lessons, etc. I second the ‘entertainment book’. I bought it for the first time this year, and was a bit hesitant to spend the $55 that it costs but we’ve saved well over that using the vouchers for family outings. As far as setting a figure for entertainment, you really need to set your ‘essential’ budget first and then decide how much of what’s left will go towards entertainment. Entertainment is usually the first one that gets cut when finances are tight.

  • Doesn’t come into our budget commitments. If we really want to go out (dinner, movie, concert) we usually find a way to do it

  • Foxtel is my entertainment lol

  • Depends on what you call entertainment. We don’t spend that much but we live off a certain amount every week that will have to pay for everything. So if we have a bit left over that week, we may splurge a little on meals out or going out.

  • I have $25 pocket money for coffee with friends during the week.

  • My budget varies (I’m not good at keeping to budgets) but I wouldn’t spend more than $75 per week on average I would think

  • Entertainment? Watching the kids is entertainment. No, seriously we try to do everything to amuse ourselves, budget is really tight these days.

  • depends what entertainment is for you? we only go out for dinner, shopping and the occasional treats, so we only put aside 100/week.

  • to help keep the cost down when going out be it with the kids or with hubby for a meal we buy a book called the entertinment book everry year where you can buy one get one free or 25 % off the total cost of a meal. or for the kids buy one get 1 entry free. Or on nights away heaper accomidation i save on average about $600 a year by using this book but the areas the book is avalible is limited.

  • We signed up to quickflix and have the app on my phone so that is some and we go ten pin bowlibg occassionally

  • We may need to cut back, but we allowed/realistically spend on Netflix. Family Coffee outing on Sundays. About $25 for me and $50 for husband for personal coffees and lunches (he gets bigger sizes). A movie or bowling every semester. So probably $100 per fortnight. Ideally we would do less on eating out but I’d rather be realistic with our budget whole we try little steps to cut back.

  • We don’t. Very rarely do we go out for dinner

  • We use the kitty money for extra dinner date nights.

  • whats a budget? or better, who has time or money for entertainment? this is my entertainment lol

  • We don’t have a budget for entertainment as such but we have a date night once a month. Nothing expensive just a movie and dinner.
