Hello!

My daughter has her first wiggly tooth and I am going to have to call upon the “tooth fairy” very soon. How much does your tooth fairy leave for your kids? My daughter is only 4 and doesn’t really understand money yet.

  • We just kept it by coins. But once my son fell knocked his tooth out and split his chin…at that occasion the tooth fairy had more to give

  • We gave $5 for the first tooth, then $2 a tooth after that.

  • My husband and I only discussed this the other day – we felt like $5 was appropriate. $1 or $2 that I got when I was a kid used to get you a bag of mixed lollies or something – now it wouldn’t get a child much. My mum and dad used to use it as a money learning tool (we took our money, and could add up what we wanted to get with it, or save it for a big toy). We only have a 2yr old so a while off for us yet (thanks Bluey for getting the conversation going lol).

  • $1/$2

  • Our kids were in primary school by the time they lost their first tooth and had a bit of an understanding of money. They got a $5 note for the first tooth and then my hubby would give them $1 for each tooth after.

  • I was wondering the same and will read all the answers.

  • Always a gold coin.

  • We give $5 for first tooth and $2 after.

  • $1 coins are great, especially the ones with different pictures. etc.

  • Growing up my boys were given a gold coin

  • We use a gold coin in our home ????

  • I’d say a chocolate coin will do

  • I would think a dollar would be enough for a first tooth a 4. You could get her a money jar and let her save for something. We do the 3 jars, spend, save and give for our nearly 5 year old n she loves it

  • still a gold coin in our house

  • My kids are in the late teens now got gold coins but check with friends because kids talk.

  • Whilst we’re not at the tooth fairy stage yet we have talked about it. We were brought up receiving only a gold coin from the fairy and Nothing more. This is what we will do with our children. No notes in this house

  • I always left a note from the Tooth Fairy and coins gold and silver no notes

  • I would be checking out with the local parents around you as that is where your child’s peers are. That way she won’t need to ask any questions because all the kids will get the same in the local neighbourhood.

  • I git 20c when I was a kid. My kids got gold coins. My grandson got a $5 note for his first
    one. It’s crazy

  • A gold coin in a glass of water
