  • Literally never. I am using my mums old unopened make up that is older than me.

  • I’ve never actually looked at use by dates on makeup. I tend to only use eye-liner and lipstick or pencil. I use them most days and until they’re finished.

  • Different products have different expiry dates. The packaging will usually say how long a product will last after opening.

  • Never lol, I don’t use make up 😉

  • It’s six to twelve months after opening (depending on the product), but I admit I keep mine for longer than that.

  • The expiry time lines are on the product. I wouldn’t recommend keeping/using anything older than 2 years. For mascara I wouldn’t keep it for longer than a year.

  • I never change my makeup. I think because I don’t wear it that much I feel like it’s such a waste to chuck it.

  • I would keep it for a year before replacing it.

  • I only throw it out if it’s dried up or I no longer use it. I’d also throw it out if I have any skin/eye problems or coldsores

  • Mascara I know should be thrown every 3 months

  • My makeup runs out before it had a chance to expire.

  • I’m not sure on guidelines I replace mine every 6 months.

  • Ummmm I don’t think I should answer that. I have eyeshadow that is well over 10 years old……

  • I try & change my MU ever few months but have been guilty of keeping them longer. Definitely change mascara more often though.

  • No idea – never lasts that long!

  • As a makeup artist I have so much variety I liked to use different brands for different types of people and depending on their skin.

  • The guidelines are different for each product, and should be printed on each product (usually expressed as a date from when you open it).

  • usually it is every 2 years unless otherwise stated on an expiry. sometimes you do need to change it earlier if it has been exposed to heat or moisture – you can usually tell because even when you shake it up it is a strange consistency.

  • I wear make up every day so mine is usually gone well before its use by date! I love my name up and wouldn’t waste it
