Hello!

I have just had a baby who is four months old. I have not got my periods as yet. I am still breastfeeding but not solely. I think I might be pregnant again. Is this truly possible as I believe I might have fallen pregnant about one and a half months ago? I am scared of checking and I suppose postponing the answer as I have four children now.

  • you can fall pregnant almost straight away. your body is very fertile after a baby

  • there are some good comments here

  • i knew a lady from work that got pregnant right after her baby was born like a month or 2

  • I loved the fact that I didn’t get my period while breastfeeding and on the mini pill. I almost didn’t want to stop feeding for that reason alone lol

  • how did you go? 🙂

  • I met a woman who fell pregnant straight after she had her second child. Complete accident, but it is possible.

  • I fell first time with my first and my second we fell pregnant on our third try,

  • Many mothers have children who are less than 12 months apart. I’d definately take the test and find out for sure.

  • It’s entirely possible. You will have to find out sooner or later, so best not to delay the inevitable & possibly put your mind at ease.

  • Yes this can happen, I had a friend that feel pregnant 7 weeks after giving birth. She was solely breastfeeding and was not getting her period at the time either.

  • I know of a few women who have fallen pregnant while breastfeeding but usually after the 6 month mark when their little ones arn’t feeding as often. My mum was breast feeding when she feel pregnant with my brother. We are 14 months apart so it does happen. When you feel ready to, I’d test to be sure.

  • It is absolutely possible. Breast feeding is not a fail safe method of contraception, and I know many people who have fallen why EBF. 🙂

  • You don’t usually fall while breast feeding, but if it wasn’t constant and your period hasn’t returned, then I would be having a test done

  • it is common to not get a period while breast feeding, but it is also easy to fall pregnant,i’d definitely take a test and find out for sure,it’s not good to put yourself through this worrying

  • Not falling preggers when breastfeeding is an old wives tale. Do the test!

  • I wanted to say pretty impossible but now that I have read all other mums’ answers I am shocked too! Doctors told me that it is highly unlikely to fall pregnant while breastfeeding but i guess theya re wrong!

  • Yes you can, breastfeeding as a contraceptive is pretty much a myth but your hormones can take a little time to regulate, just see a doctor!

  • in answer to your question, yes you can get pregnant that quickly!

  • even if you are feeding you can still get pregnant .

  • Pretty much as soon as sexual contact resumes!!!!
