A few sprinkles of water from the tap works also. When the cat jumps on to the bench, immediately take him off and speak sternly to him. This sometimes works!!

A spray bottle is good, just squirt them when they jump up and they soon get the idea.

Foil works the best. If they jump on it it will make lots of noise and scares them
