Hello!

Kids especially need to eat healthy food — and enough of it — to grow and develop.

But for some kids, they might hear someone say that food makes them “fat” or they might start to worry about their bodies and how they look — and some kids stop eating right, eat too little, or try to make themselves throw up after they eat.

  • Parents need to ensure a child’s diet mostly consists of healthy food with regular exercise. With minimal junk food and takeaways. I don’t think the word diet or fat should be used in conversations with kids

  • I would say balanced diet clean eating is good. Dont offer too much sugar or fried stuff as in junk. Kids have lots of energy and they burn calories easy as they play and run around they should be fine as long as they are clean eating no need for dieting. Moderation is the key!

  • Well obviously it’s not okay to throw up after you eat! I personally think it’s the responsibility of parents to teach good eating behaviour to children right from the get go! Don’t get me wrong my kids eat lollies and take away. We are not perfect but what they eat is monitored. They don’t have free for all on the pantry! If your child is throwing up they need to speak with a councillor as there is something more obviously going on there!!! Goodluck

  • Children need food from every food group in accordance with the food pyramid. Portion control is important when it comes to controlling weight, and treats should be restricted but not eliminated.

  • yeah give them healthy food options but you don’t have to be too restrictive.

  • No , I think dieting is dangerous for children especially if they are still growing and developing . If they eat a balanced diet and do some sort of psychical activity like sports ( which usually starts at school ) they are off to a good start . Kids who stop eating sounds like they need professional intervention as they may have other issues as well .

  • you are not meant to make them diet unless under advice from a doctor.

  • Children should not be encouraged to diet and healthy eating should be promoted.

  • Children need immediate help if any of this behaviour occurs. Good eating habits need to start at a young age and continue through all of the stages into adulthood.

  • No, dieting is not ok for your kids. You are responsible fir what your child eats, you should be feeding them a healthy well balanced diet and gets enough exercise
