My 9.5 month old’s top front teeth are coming in at an angle…

  • My 3 year old’s front teeth have cme through so crooked. The nurse saw it and made the comment that there’s no need to worry at the moment. He’s been to the dentist a few times and they’ve said not to worry until his adult teeth come through and if they stay like that, we’ll deal with it then.

  • My daughter had a crooked baby tooth as well as some crooked adult teeth. She had to have braces but her teeth are straight now.

  • If you’re concerned then get it checked but chances are you’ll be told not to worry as they are only baby teeth. Sorry I’m not more help

  • Sometimes they can straighten as they grow.. Two of my three kids have good teeth but the youngest 3 yo doesnt (according to me) But i have taken him to the dentist and he has told me they are fine for his age and can be fixed when he is a little older just to keep bringing him in for his check ups and he will let me know when its time to fix them..

  • So happy this question has been asked. My little girl’s teeth are coming through crooked as well as with big gaps. At first I thought it was just as they didn’t come through in the usual order but the gaps are still there. I’ll have to ask at her next check up. We’ve already been warned by the dentist to start saving for braces for our eldest as they said adult teeth usually follow a similar pattern so I guess it’s not looking good for her either :(

  • They may straighten over time, but but if concerned, check with your health nurse or dentist

  • Teeth can do all sorts of strange things – best to see a dentist and get his/her advice.

  • One of mine twins has his teeth start crooked and then they straighten up and the other one they just come through as they stay. If you are concerned, go see a dentist.

  • If you are even slightly concerned I would definitely recommend seeing a pediatric dentist.

  • Always good to get teeth checked out by a dentist – everyone is so individual.

  • I know one guy who had crooked teeth as a baby/toddler. Turned out his Dad had crooked teeth too, as did his Mum. Maybe it is hereditary – maybe not.
I also know a boy who is getting his permanent teeth. His baby teeth get a little loose but don’t come out and his permanent teeth are coming through in front of the others. The Dentist has had to extract the baby ones as the others come through.

  • I don’t think so – or that was not our experience anyway. You could ask the nurse at your baby’s next checkup, or your dentist should be able to to check this for you – if you have a family dentist, they might be able to squeeze you in between appointments for a quick look and then book you in if necessary (thats what mine does anyway).

Better to get these things looked at earlier rather than later.
