Personally, travelling anywhere outside of Australia, whether you’re a kid or an adult, comes with its dangers. Just stay home and see our beautiful Australia

I’ve traveled to Thailand and would have no fears to take my kids there.
It’s a beautiful country with lovely people.
Of course there are area’s where I wouldn’t take my kids, but so there are certain area’s in Australia where I wouldn’t take my kids, every country has those neighbourhoods/suburbs

Travelling anywhere with a young child can have its risks, just use common sense! I agree with not hiring a babysitter too!

Yes, especially beautiful areas like Chiang Mai – keep him close, and don’t hire a baby sitter!!

I think travelling to any foreign country is a risk and taking a young child creates more responsibility for the parent . That is because you not only have to look after yourself and make sure you are safe, but your child as well. Do you have family and friends there ? If you do they will be able to tell you which areas are safe for young children . If not I think it is more risky because you are counting on trust of strangers. If you have to go , I think I would leave your child with someone at home because I would be more worried about safety issues , especially when there is so many people and always afraid they will be lost in a crowd or something like that . Ask around first and for those who been and they say No, better take their advice . Good luck .

Plenty of parents travel there with younger kiddies, I haven’t heard or read of any dangers.

i had a family member go to thailand with a four year old and a few others. They were fine and loved it. You should talk to your doctor to get all your boosters and plan your trip carefully.

We took our son when he was 15 months, and we went again in May with my 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son. Where in Thailand are you looking at going? I would have no reservations in taking a 4 year old. The people are so lovely and love the children and it’s a great experience for them. Stick to the main tourist areas and you will be fine.

I went there a couple of years ago. I seen lots of people with small children and some resorts are even promoted as family style resorts. I wouldn’t take my son but that’s because he has allergies to eggs and nuts.

Personally I wouldn’t but i have had many friends who have taken their children and had no issues. Read up on the risks and get insurance!!! Make sure youand your child have all your injections needed before booking.

As long as you stay to the tourist areas you should be fine

I recently went to thailand n personally I wouldn’t take me little ones. Yes you can look after them and keep them close but its the crazy traffic that scares me. Nobody has any concept of road rules and all go hell for leather weaving between cars and scooters. It was scary even for me and im 28. The resorts are beautiful and all the things to see are amazing but the roads and market places put me off. The market style shops are very overwhelming and some people are quite aggressive and very in your face. Just my opinion though. Good luck with your decision.

My parents have just returned from there. They said they were none the wiser with what was happening. Curfew was still in place, but I imagine with a youngster, you won’t be roaming the streets at 1am

I think it depends on where you plan to go and what you plan to do.
If you are heading to a resort I think it should be fine.
Im not sure of what vaccines might be needed and thats where concerns might lie.
I know when my eldest daughter was little we opted out of taking her to Malaysia because of the vaccines she would require.

I have friends who have travelled to Thailand on holidays and they go back year after year. They have little children too. They have no such fears.
