This lady for what ever reason thought that the child should not be dressed the way she was but perhaps this lady needs to work on improving her own life first before commenting on others. She firstly needs to work on her manners as commenting in such a way about a small child shows lack of manners and a lack of upbringing.

I think my daughter has the same dress! and my other daughter has a pink leopard dress that her grandmother bought her. Each to their own. I hope your husband politely put this woman in her place and your daughter did not get upset!

It bugs me that people think leopard print has to depict something sexual. It’s just a print for crying out loud. Most kids love it and I let my 7 year old wear clothes with the print on it.

I can’t see the problem with your daughter wearing leopard print. I’d ignore what the woman said and as long as your daughter wants to wear the dress then let her. Wonder if the woman ever says anything about people walking around half naked with their butts and boobs hanging out?

The fact that her 72 year old Nan chose it means it’s absolutely okay. And your daughter loves wearing it, so that’s okay. How dare anybody comment on what your child is wearing. That is not okay.

Some people need to get a life! There’s nothing wrong with it! It’s just a fashion print I really don’t understand where the woman was coming from. It is after all just fabric- it’s what it’s made into that makes the difference and that can be said of any print. Are we going to stop the use of hot pink too?

I didn’t realise there was any other representation of the print than the animal that we took the pattern from! My girls adore the print and have many things, thankfully have never encountered any remarks. Sounds like you’ve just encountered someone who thinks a bit differently.

No I do not think so at all! Children can wear whatever they feel is right. They are at an age where they should want to experiment and let their imagination run wild. They are becoming there own little personality at this age and nothing should stop that.

As long as the dress itself is appropriate in style/cut/length, etc, the print should not matter. Kids love animal prints and look adorable in them. Ignore the stupid comments made by this ignorant woman who should learn to mind her own business!

Strangers should learn to mind their own business. All animal prints are cute on kids. Dress your child the way you want and ignore any unwarranted advice from Strangers. Would you throw out an item of your clothing for the same reason?
