Hello!

“How do I know if my child is getting enough nutrients? They are shying away from vegetables no matter what I do and I don’t want to start supplements. Is my child getting enough nutrients? Any tips?”

  • There’s so much that you can do;
make icecream from greek yoghurt/conut yoghurt, mango and raw honey
do your baking with lentil/chick pea flower or even cauliflower flour
make a chocolate sauce from avocado’s, raw chocolate powder and raw honey
make a pasta sauce from many fresh veggies add some lentil and put the blender over it
make smoothies with fruit and veggies and add some soaked raw cashews (nice and creamy and very nutritious)
when he eats chips give lentil chips, pea chips or chips from root vegetables (beet sweet potato, turnip)
    etc, etc

  • Apparently they are very good at extracting what they need from what they eat, recipes with hidden veg are great or gummi vitamins if you are really worried

  • It’s not always about veggies. Best to ask the Dr about their growth rates.

  • children get nutrients from many foods. I hope all is working out well

  • Drag out the blender and crank out some smoothies! I’m sure your child is getting enough anyway though!

  • How old is your child? I’m pretty sure vita gummies are only recommended for children 2years and up. I have also heard they contain a lot of sugar

  • Vita tummies r great. Easy way to get the goodness

  • Try vita gummies there excellent and in lolly form then they will be getting alot more nutrition :D

  • Be creative with veggies pour creamy cheese sauce over it, cut carrot sticks use a dip, even hot chips at least there getting potato

  • Grating veggies in pastas, sausage rolls is a good idea & a children’s multi vitamin may be the way to go & will give you some peace of mind maybe.

  • If you are of the sneaking veggies school – soups , meatloaf. hamburgers, spaghetti bol all can hold a host of veggies for the unsuspecting and none the wiser child…

  • If you still give them formula that has everthing they need.

  • I sneak veggies into everything, I just cook them and blend them into most meals

  • just hide the veggies dont forget u can try juice and other snacks too

  • I sneak alot in or use vitamins

  • I would just continue to try sneak veg in to things but so long as there isn’t copious amounts of junk and there is some real nutrition in there you should be ok.

  • Make fruits and vegies into something fun see woolworths fresh food kids web for ideas.

  • As long as they are eating a variety of foods they should be fine. Vegetables are not the only way they get their nutrients. serve them up differently like chips bake your carrot, potato and pumpkin into chips in the oven

  • Try things like puree the vegetables and add to spaghetti sauce. Make your own pizza and try to hide some vegetables in there.

  • it is hard to be able to know sometimes try hiding the veggies in the food that works great sometimes
