Have you tried picture and word cards? A bit like the match up card games. Eg you have a picture of an apple then the word apple. You turn all the cards face down and flip 2 at a time til they’re all paired up. A memory game I suppose

I’ve heard great review about the abc reading eggs and they offer trials as well. So you can try it to see if you like it before spending money.

I recommend getting some english apps out there. Google can help to!

there are lots of card and dice games with letters and words. look on the website for the early learning centre in the uk as they have great educational games. http://www.elc.co.uk
like flash cards etc.
Games like boggle are good too. if you have a local games shop go in there and see what selection they have for learning.

I’ve recently subscribed to the ABC Reading Eggs program for my daughter and it’s excellent. I highly recommend it. Also, I discovered the site http://www.myteachingstation.com recently and it has some excellent, free resources. Most you can just print out and they are activities she can do.

My 7 year old son enjoys spelling games on the computer. Where as my daughter would much rather write words down in a book.

Sorry no suggestions for anything on the internet but my 6 six year old is has simular issues, we have found that his leappad ultra has helped him and his younger sibblings a lot, it can be expensive though if its just for one child as we have three kids and have been able to down load the games etc we have paid for onto three leappads, but they have a range of games where you have to spell this or that to get through the game. We have also purchased some books from booktopia where you can do sums practice writing etc. You can wipe it off once you have done so and use again. This has helped my son with his letters and words etc.
How is your daughter with her speech as my son was very bad and he needed speach theropy and this helped him with everything to do with learning in the school system, present and future descriptive words etc as he soon had the confidence to ask for help when he didnt understand it. He also needs Occupational theropy to help him with his grasp etc on his pen and writing skills its amazing how something as simple as how a kid holds their pencils can make such a difference to thier ability to write. And when its someone else guiding the kid they take it in so much easier.

We have used Reading Eggs before they usually have free trials on offer so keep an eye out and subscribe for a trial and if your daughter enjoys it you could then go for the paid subscription.

Abc reading eggs haven’t looked at it myself but may help

Junior Scrabble is wonderful. You can play this game over and over and your child will have fun and not realise she is learning. Playing with her sight words is fun if you make up silly sentences. Go to a toy library there should be one maybe at your library have your daughter pick a game or two. Then have her do ten minutes on her spelling words then play a game. If it’s too stressful talk to her teacher and break down her home work to a few words per night. Card games like snap can be fun as well as Go Fish. She could be reading the names of the fish as learning what type of fish it is. Five Senses stores have lots of games that are educational. As far as reading goes I asked my daughter to write me a story and we would read it to Dad or we would write a letter to Dad or to Nanna etc.. I would make sight cards for my kids sometimes I would draw on one half a egg and they would write the word on the card for me. And vice versa. You could ask her to type her spelling words on the computer and print them out. Homework can be very stressful for both child and parents pick a time that suits you both before you are all too tired in the evening.
