About once or twice. I think it’s a shame that the grandparents aren’t more involved in my children’s lives

For my teen it has been fortnightly or monthly for most of his life.

Hardly ever, as the grandparents of our kids live in Europe. But when we lived in Northern Ireland our kids would see our in laws once a month or so.

3 times a week as they live around the corner from us

Our kids are lucky and have three sets of grandparents. We hate being house bound with 3children so we visit regularly. They see them at least once a week… Sometimes all three sets in a week!!

My daughter sees my parents a lot. They don’t need to schedule time to see her.
My inlaws visit twice a month but only live 15mins away :/ unless we take her to them. I’ve told them repeatedly that i’m happy for them to drop in whenever, I guess that’s all I can do.

My sons brother in law has just separated. He has a child. Part if the custody agreement was the child spend every Friday afternoon with the brother in laws parents. How lovely to include the grandparents

My kids see their nan (on hubby’s side) nearly every day. My parents are interstate so it’s every 2nd year for them

i get to see my grand daughter once a week if her mother is not busy otherwise I talk to her over the phone. Being 10 months not much talking on her side. She does not feel safe with me, so her parents need to be in the same room, so no screaming. Yet her other set of grand parents she ok with but then she is there for a few days at time as live a few hours away and her mum is homesick.. My children when young and we lived close to the grandparents would see them once a week or a f/n as my husband’s lived 2 hours away. Now on the other side of Australia they talk to my mother, the only one still alive maybe every few weeks.

My kids see my parents every weekend but my inlaws live interstate and they haven’t seen them in 2 years.

My children see there grandparents at least two times a week although I am very lucky being a working mum as Nana and Pop and Grandma and Granddad are all close and often do school picks and drops off etc if needed. I love the bond that my sons have with my mum as she looked after them both for a day a week when very little when I went back to work.

mine seen their Grandparents (my Mum and Dad) a few times a week and on school holidays they went one for one half and the other for the other half. The school holiday thing started after my Dad retired. They would always take them on the train to Brisbane and when ever we went to a zoo or theme park pool beach my parents always came as well,

I see mine alot more now I am at my Mum’s for ten days at a time home for a few and back again and see them every day when I am there as Mum’s is close to them all. We have always made sure we go to all the Grandkids special things

My Husband parents before they moved over 6 hours away was 1 day a fortnight when we went out there and they would pop in when they were shopping in Ipswich as we lived in the area than. They moved before we did. We also see them for every Birthday as they all go to each other’s birthday as well as Easter and Christmas.

We are a very close family and we are not with them we talk to them on the phone all the time
It works out your kids are seeing them almost once a week and yes this is ample but you can always increase it if they or you want to

I have been living with my parents so obviously my daughter sees her maternal grandparents ALL the time, but unfortunately she doesn’t get to see her father’s parents often as her dad’s father lives overseas and her dad’s mum lives about 45 minutes from us so sometimes every six weeks and sometimes she doesn’t see her for a few months.

If my kids are lucky once a month, I think it all depends on the relationship they have, if its great encourage it

my kids only see there grandparents every couple of months – sometimes more. It does depend on their relationships and the grandparents willingness to be involved.

We live interstate so just a few times a year and my son’s fathers parents are overseas and my son has never met them. I would love it to be more and wish we lived closer.

When my kids were younger (upto 18 years) my kids saw my mother and father on an average 3 times a week. When my eldest went to high school they kindly my younger kids from school while I picked the eldest one up from high school (or vica versa) My inlaws lived further away, so we just saw them at Christmas, birthdays, etc. Both my in-laws had pass on and so has my father. Now they are adults, one of my sons live in Tasmania and rings Mum every two or three months, my second son (visiting Canada) the other day made sure his Nana was there to talk to him on Skype, and when he is in his home city of Perth Australia, he always is dropping in to see her. My daughter lives with us so she sees here whenever she can. They all still keep in contact. Of course Mum always made them food when they were at her place and made them sure that she had a lot of love to go around.She is now 87 and has a great grand daughter by my niece, who she dotes on. I would never say don’t see your grandparents, because this is one of the ways how kids learn to accept people who are different from them (in age, in lifestyle etc)
and also grandparents are great teachers in their own way. (probably not some technology but life experiences) eg. Mum was lived during the Second World War and the depression and knows about saving financially, practical tips in the house etc) When sometimes I cannot get through to my kids, my Mum comes along and can soothe things over. I hope I have interaction with my grandchildren and have the same respect as my children have had for their grandparents.

Mine never see their grandparents – my parents are bad for kids, my husband’s are dead.

When they were younger once a week but now they are grown up it maybe once a month

We just moved away from the kids Grandparents and we would see them every week, and sometime 3 or 4 times in the week. We are now 3 states away and have seen them once this year. I think whatever your family can handle is best but I wish we were closer to do it more often.
