It depends on his plan, what goals he has and how he wishes to be supported to reach these goals. My ASD teenager didn’t see an advantage from seeing their speech therapist but really benefits from their psychologist sessions. Where other children may really benefit from a speech therapist. Every child/person is different. You can always try out in allied health professional and see what works and who fits with your child. Ask questions and advocate for your child. My teenager also has occasional NDIS funded horse riding sessions as one of their goals was to be able to ride again. There are many ways to use the funds – dependant on the goals. I have found that self managing my child’s NDIS gives us more flexibility and we are also not needlessly spending money on it being managed by someone else. Best wishes in negotiating this journey
NDIS offers various supports like speech therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioural support. Consider an early intervention plan tailored to your son’s needs. Connecting with an NDIS planner can guide you through available supports. Take it one step at a time.
I’d be discussing suggestions with the person that diagnosed him or maybe his teachers. It’s a minefield of info out there and they as professionals could guide you .
