I could recommend making a really nice raspberry & white chocolate muffin & use cake making books to get inspiration for decorating (there are cupcake specific books) & then package them individually in clear cellophane with a pretty ribbon. Also a nice crafty homemade bookmark, coasters or the like are great.

What about put items in little bags. I buy them at the bargain stores and comes in different sizes and colours in sheer material for only $2-3 in bulk pack . You can put mini soaps, chocolates, stationary , jewerelly etc

Mum would love home made chuntney and jam at the Mother Day stalls.

Recipes in a jar are fun – eg: Cocoa, sugar and marshmallows layered in a jar with instructions on a hand made tag tied with ribbon.

The suggestions from other mums also sound great.
