Yes, talk to the teacher ! School should adjust the curriculum to the abilities of the students, whether they’re below or above average level. At home you could print out yr 3 work sheets for her to do as well.

My son had a great teacher that gave additional work and worksheets. At home we practised math by reading recipes and baking. He loved learning fractions this way and wasn’t “bored” all the time. We always had a house full of children that came over on play dates. Sounds like your daughter needs to be busy constantly and having other children over may, as silly as it sounds, give you a break.

Our daughter is exactly the same age and year, and she is very bored as well, we asked the teacher for year 3 work and she is loving it. She even got a letter from school saying she has been selected to go to Wollongong University for a couple of days. Really excited about that.
I’d suggest to ask the teacher for higher school work if possible, or a special class where she can learn to her potential.

Talk to the teachers and encourage her to challenge herself as well – think about everything she is told, question it, ask why and when she finds routine stuff tedious try to come up with other ways of doing things etc. It’s great she is talented and active but maybe look for some sport, like orienteering, that also challenges her intellectually.

I would talk to her teacher. A lot of schools have a program where kids that are performing to a high standard spend an hour a week in the class above them. She may find this a bit of a challenge and keep her interested in school

Talk to the teacher about accelerated or “enriched” learning programs available within your state’s education system & look at Gifted & Talented association

She sounds too advanced for the school she is in.Maybe look for alternative. Also if you and her do creativity these new colouring in books are all the rage and fantastic, have used them with my grandkids and we all love it. Start by you doinging them not asking or telling her just you do it and bet she will come and check what you are doing,no pressure on her just seeing you might give her the urge to try.. I love them and grandkids and other friends smallchildren come over and i have masses of colourin in stuff, paper and books.. it works wonderfully, siggest you try you even might like it it sooths the ind and you become absorbed in what you are doing.. The old saying’monkey see monkey do’ is quite true. In oer areas of life as well. My oldestson and grandson got them doing jigsaws together so it is bonding as well

Does you school offer a mathletics program Or maybe you could get her involved in a creative writing program outside of school.. It sounds like you have all the athletic things covered but maybe something to stimulate her mind might be in order… Does your school offer combined classes with the level above her so she can be taught at a higher level???

I had a similar problem with my daughter. I asked the teachers if she could be given more challenging work. I was told they couldn’t make my daughter more advanced as it would make the slower children even further behind. I can understand their logic, but it was very unfair to my daughter

I also think you should talk to the teacher and see if they can give her some extra exciting work. And maybe follow some classes with some higher grades, to keep her motivated.

Have you spoken to the teacher about potentially giving her varied things in class? All kids learn differently. Is she getting attention for saying she’s bored?

Speak to the school. At my sons school, advanced students spend some time integrating with higher grades in order to challenge them and keep them excelling.
