Hello!

Natural therapies for kids? My daughter is 5, snores and sleeps with her mouth open. She is a lovely child but lacks the energy during the day. Blood screening is all good. We have a referral to see an ENT specialist to have her Tonsils and Adenoids removed. ENT appointment is not until December. I am very keen to assist her immune system naturally and give natural remedy a try before the appointment. Were any of you in this situation and were successful in choosing natural therapies path? If yes, what did you choose. Thanks for your help x

  • We went through all the natural remedies and my little one is now booked in for November surgery. She was constantly tired and always up at the crack of dawn. The snoring is so loud that it can be heard from the other end of the house sometimes. The surgeon said that due to her snoring, she was stopping breathing several times a night; pretty scary stuff. Until she has her surgery we are keeping up a steady dose of garlic and horseradish and vitamin c to make sure that she doesn’t get sick in the mean time. (and earplugs for us, to drown out the freight train like snoring)

  • A holistic chiropractor might benefit. Or try taking her off dairy for a month.

  • there are a lot of good tonics that you can get which are all natural and help with energy levels.

  • I would be seeing if you can go on a wait list for the ENT or find another that you can get an earlier appointment. Our daughter had the same problem and was affecting her growth. The change since she had her tonsils and adenoids out!

  • Sounds like she needs her adenoids out, hopefully you have spoken to her doctor.

  • what did you end up doing

  • there are some good comments here

  • have you considered homeopathy ?

  • I hope you can reply to this post I am wondering how you got on? Sounds like sleep apnea and or blockage

  • What did you end up using?

  • Maybe give her a few doses of pro biotics?

  • No harm in seeing a naturapath – my sister-in-law has had great success with treatments from her naturapath.

  • i hope it went well

  • I would also recommend seeing an ENT

  • See the ENT and see what they suggest

  • I would see the ENT specialist, he would not operate unless it was necessary. In the meantime see a naturapath to see if they can help, hopefully someone can give you advice from experience,

  • What did you end up choosing?

  • i personally would stick with the appointment and maybe they will have some natural remedy advice they can offer

  • My husband had these issues as a child and took a ‘butako’ course (hope that spelling is right). It basically focuses on breathing techniques, and breathing through the nose as well as mouth. Maybe look into something like this

  • Good advice hope you found some solutions
