Think once they can roll they’re fine.
Personally I would chose for a sleeping tog instead of a blanket, so the face is uncovered at all times and the arms are free. Also I would place a monitor for peace of mind.

Once y can roll there is really nothing that you can do to stop them from sleeping however they want to, and being that they can roll I think any sleep related risks must be fairly small. Both of my kids are tummy sleepers and have been doing so ever since they could roll and they are perfectly healthy and have never had any issues. I mentioned the fact that they were rolling onto their tummies to a child health nurse and she didn’t seem to think it was anything to worry about.

Same with my daughter – you could spend all night waking to check on them and rolling them back but they are going to go where they are most comfortable. As long as their arms are free so they don’t get stuck down like a seal they should be safe. We bought a monitor with respiratory monitor (oricom) which was expensive but helps me feel comfortable knowing she is safe and breathing. In one of Tizzie Hall’s books she claims babies roll onto their tummies if they are cold but I did not find this to be the case with my child.

If she can roll herself over from tummy to back then it is all fine just make sure her face is not obstructed. Some nabies have sounder sleeps on their tummy as well

It’s a hard question to answer.

I had exactly the same issue with my daughter. She rolled as soon as she was able and always slept on her tummy (still does in fact and she’s nearly 3).
I asked the SIDS association this question as I was also concerned and I was told that as long as they are able to lift their heads, they would be fine. In her opinion, if she was able to roll onto her tummy she was also more than capable of moving back to her back or moving her head if necessary.

Some babies like to sleep on their tummy’s. It should be fine. Just make sure there’s no overly fluffy pillows or toys she can suffocate on.

The cause of cot death (SIDS) is not sleeping on the tummy’s …. as a sids mother.. my subsequent children will still let to sleep on their tummy’s.

I was also paraoid until after 12 months, we always put them to sleep on their backs.

At 9 months she should be ok but I was always paranoid until after 12 monhs

Our Paed told us that is the can roll from bak to front and vice versa let them go for it.

once they are old enough to roll themselves over there isn’t much you can do to stop them. my first slept on his tummy from 4 months when he could roll over and our daughter slept on her belly from about 2 weeks as that was the only way she was comfortable. we just kept a close eye on them and used a monitor under the mattress.
