I’ve read that the “gift” from the new baby is a great way to introduce the new addition & keep kids entertained. A card game or small travel game, maybe a couple of their favourite toys, books (if they like reading), & iPad/ portable DVD player as a back up.

If you’re going into public I would pack everything or at least a selection, if you need more you can send husband/partner to get more.

It really depends on the hospital in question. One of the hospitals I gave birth in supplied formula but not nappies and the other hospital supplied nappies but not formula. To entertain the kids, I would bring in a portable DVD player but in all honestly, I’d probably get someone to look after the kids. Good Luck 😀

Hi! I just had a baby in january, with one at four and one at 1,5, I knew I needed something to entertain them! Depending on how long you plan to stay, I’d pack some things they like. I got them new crayons and colouring books, a puzzle each and some small toy cars and books – everything cheap. I wrapped them up, and when They came, I said the baby girl had bought it for them and they were ecstatic! Kept them busy for a bit at least. I also had a bag packed with food (apples don’t go off that quickly) and some snacks that was left in our car, because you know. Kids will always be hungry, and hospital food will be so expensive in the long run. I made my hubby make them a special lunch box every day, so they would be excited about it, to. I also had an ipad with movies for when I got desperate:p but they mostly managed with the new “surprises”:)
