Hello!

I’ve been hearing a lot about this diet of late, is anybody familiar with how it works?

  • It’s no processed foods (including sugar and artificial sweeteners), also no dairy, grains or legumes. I tried it, lasted less than 3 days. Very hungry and it’s so hard not to reach for a piece of bread or some pasta to fill up. I think it’s also no white potatoes as well. I tried a modified version of it for a while – also didn’t last long – no processed foods, no dairy (except hard cheese and greek youghurt), but included legumes and potatoes and rice.

Now I eat much less processed foods (than I used to) and as little sugar as possible. I have more energy (after initial wild fluctuations in energy) but have lost very little weight. I wish I had the answer!

  • Isn’t Pete Evans on a Paleo Diet?

There are some definite health benefits to avoiding dairy, grains, legumes & anything artificial. Being fruitarian has worked out much better for me :-)

  • It’s basically the caveman diet. No dairy, no legumes, no grains, no sugar and definitely no processed foods. That’s the full on version. You can apparently adapt it to add things you still like, but it’s not true Paleo then. I think it’s too extreme, fir me anyway, I’ve seen lots of success stories though. I guess it’s a case of what works for one, doesn’t for another

  • There are plenty of great websites and bloggers with recipes. I like the health elements of paleo but not the cult following and the “I’m better than you” attitudes that tend to go along with it though.

  • I have heard it for it; but not keen on it.

  • It is a great way for eating, body just looks great and feels great with processed food.

  • I don’t do diets any more, just eat healthy.

  • it’s pretty much eating unprocessed food, sounds easy, but so much food is processed. I reckon if you do your own by eating heaps of fresh vegies, fruit and lean meats/fish etc you can’t go wrong :)

  • caveman days..lol…. but anything that measn you dont have lots of preservatives cant be all bad can it?

  • the paelo diet is taken from what the people in the paelo period would have eaten. its all about eating foods that are not processed to make, such as no dairy or artificial flavours. and usually no gluten.
i personally wouldnt follow it as that is all i eat, but some of the recipes do look yummy

  • I think it is just meat and fruit and veg, you don’t eat anything that isn’t killed or grown. You can lose a lot of weight on it but I would talk to a detrition first

  • I have a couple of friends who are on it. Basicly they said it is like going back to caveman days. Meat, eggs, veggies – All natural.. You do loose alot of weight though but alot of preperation needed

  • my friend is on paleo diet and her and her husband look fabulous she has lost so much wieght

  • never heard of it, so take it with a grain of salt.

  • Always thought it was silly so I never bothered learning about it……… don’t eat too much sugar, don’t eat too much fat, don’t eat too much salt and exercise…… and you’ll be fine :)

  • Sounds good, all natural.

  • Interested in keeping an eye on answered as I’m trying to lose weight, having a hard time.

  • i have heard of it but haven’t tried it myself

  • I have no idea, I tend to think just good plain eating is the best

  • The caveman diet is actually the 5 and 2 diet. You eat normally for 5 days and restrict your calories to 500 for 2 days. It is based on the fact that cavemen did not have food all of the time!
