Hello!

I’m considering getting into the party planning business. At the moment I’m having a hard time deciding which company to go with. I’d like to hear good and bad opinions particularly about Lorraine Lea Linen, Scentcy, Pash, and Partylite. Which products are the easiest to sell?

  • Scentsy is a tough one. They set sales targets for you, the more you sell, the more they ask you to sell. And if you don’t meet their sales targets, you don’t remain a Scentsy seller for long

  • Depends what your friends like. I think these parties have a limited life span…you only have so many people in town

  • depends on your level of commitment to the program – a friend says she does ok out of Avon, but we work with lots of people, and a cousin of mine said Tupperware worked for her, but she lived in a small town, and it was a party!!

  • if you want to do nutrimetics give me a buzz http://www.nutrimetics.com.au/tracybaker

  • i know a person who does loraine lea linen parties. she makes a fair bit of money and mainly works on the weekends which suits her as she has kids and a hubby. it is an expensive brand but usually people will be drinking at these events and so buy more than they would like to. i bought 2 towels and that was $100. the person who is running the party will get some reward from everyone pitching in to buy things and this is the incentive to hold a party. Scentsy is a popular one especially with the young ones and more likely to get successful at.

  • Interesting question with a great range of answers.

  • I have never actually heard of any of the plans you mentioned, I’m also a little cynical about them as they are all pretty thinly disguised pyramid selling schemes. If you want to work from home the best way to do it is to create your own product and work from there. I have seen a lot of friends lose money after start up on these type of plans, pretty much because once all freinds and family have bought something once they lose their market.

  • I’m keen to know the answer too!

  • I’ve been thinking of doing it for body shop, lots of people know and love body shop

  • Most of these really depend on how wide your network of friends/relatives is who are your potential customers

  • I don’t think any of them work

  • I find unless you get in on the ground floor, the only ones that make money are the companies, you tend to work for free by the time you factor in time and fuel to do these parties

  • Lorraine is an expensive product unless you buy their specials, I am not sure about the commission on it and find a lot of party plans very hard to get going and keep going

  • this article come handy for myself as well thanks :D

  • I’m exploring thermomix, haven’t started though. I’m going to buy one anyone and I’m really only doing it to “earn” one

  • I really like Scentsy. Their start up kit is cheap and I love that the products are affordable.

  • I hear Nutrimetics is pretty good, I attended a lot of their party plans years ago and apparently they’re still going strong.

  • I know someone who had success with partylite.. But then I also knew a few that gave up.. You still have to work hard at it..

  • I don’t mind Mary Kay. That’s probably quite simply because I love the products lol. I think cosmetics and skin care work or anything to do with perfume and fragrance. The simple fact of the matter is a lot of women want to look youthful and love luxurious skin care and great make up.

  • A friend of mine used to do Enjo, but became quite disillusioned with them, and now does Lorraine Lea Linen. She’s also started doing Envy Jewellery, which pays really well.
