I don’t have a dog but would do it in the same way I toilet trained my children lol !

Lots of praise and rewards for toileting in appropriate places is also key to successful puppy toilet training.

We set up a regular toilet time routine and puppy picked it up very quickly. Training a puppy to toilet in appropriate places takes consistency from every member of the family.

We bought a foldable cage that we put her in if no-one was around or for the night time. I bought a special grass mat which she could use to toilet on in one corner and newspapers in the other corner. Slowly moved it to the doggy door and then she started to go outside only. To clean up I used pine-o-clean and paper towels.

I would say that toilet training and cleaning up is not much different than with a child

Always have paper towels on hand, as soon as you see the puddle, put paper towels down to stop it running further.
Buy puppy dog pads, blue and white, always have on hand.
Have child proof gates, to border off your carpeted areas and so you can quickly open these to get to these areas.

As far as cleaning, we used spray & wipe/Ajax & paper towels.
For training, we got into the habit of taking the puppy outside to the yard after each meal, sleep & playtime. She quickly picked up the idea herself.

Have puppy training pads on hand! Put them around the house and use them to clean up. And then just mop and bucket. Plenty of disinfectant.
They do eventually learn to go outside, even though sometimes it feels like they’ll never get there

I used to put newspapers in one spot but now they have the puppy ones it is easier. Before you go to bed you take the pup out and tell it to go toilet walk with it and when it goes praise the pup and same when you get up take it out after you feed the pup take it out and don’t forget to praise it. Mine knew to go on the newspaper or the dog ones you have to repeat and be patient with them. I also bought a dog toilet that has the fake grass with the tray underneath and I never had to tell my Poodle to use she just did and I never have a mess to clean up when I come home. It depends what dog it is and if it is going to be a outside dog or inside I do have a big dog that does come inside but she lets me know she needs to go out to the toilet.

Carpet: Soak it up straight away with paper towel, or some cloths, use disinfectant to clean it (spot test first), then put bicarb soda over the area and vacuum up once dry.

Hard floors: clean up with paper towel or cloth, clean with disinfectant

Dont use nothing with ammonia it woll make it worse just half white vinegar and half water after u have soaked it up first.. i brought a bissel proheat pet 2 carpet cleaner n thats the best as well

I bought a bell ???? from Bunnings it worked but it needs everyone in household to follow the rule !!
Puppy has a drink and you hit bell on floor then open door and say go do wee’s
I had used same thing to call puppy in for bed ,it works fantastic but Other human had to be reminded.constanly till he was given the chore to clean up ????

Create a routine. Take your puppy out to the same spot routinely and say a command, we say “Go wees”. Reward them when they go.
Don’t punish them after you’ve found it, they won’t understand why they’re being punished. If you catch them in the act, take them to the spot straight away.
I agree with cleaning with vinegar to remove their association with the spot to go back to.

Clean as soon as it happens and wipe down with vinegar.
