Hello!

Hi, I have been given a bag of Red Lentils and a bag of Quinoa and am looking for good recipes that don’t need exotic ingredients – heeelp!

  • Red lentil dip is delicious, onion, garlic and red lentil prepared as the packet.


  • Stews are yummy and we use lentils in ours.

  • We use quinoa instead of rice, and sometimes cook half rice and half quinoa. They take the same time to cook and can be cooked together. Can be used cold in salads too.


  • We have recently started using Quinoa. I love it with feta, semi dried tomatoes, spinach, pine nuts & olives, the possibilities are endless though. Taste.com is a great recipe site, also try googling, there will be lots to choose from & it’s a very easy grain to cook with. I love using lentils for Dahl.

  • I cooked up some quinoa in chicken stock and mixed it with left over roasted pumpkin – carrot and onion and it worked brilliantly!!

  • Cook the Quinoa as per instructions on packet and make Spanish rice, really yummy with chili or cold as a salad.


  • I use red lentils to make a cheap meat free curry. Red lentils, some tomato puree, garlic, onion, clives and keens curry powder- half and half to taste. salt. Serve with rice- can even add some spinach leaves at the end and cubed cooked potato.
