Hello!

Hi all! I am due to have my second baby in September, and am wondering what the best car seat would be to fit in my RAV4 hybrid + britax car already in! Also where does everyone put their car seats when they have two kids? My current one is in the middle. Would one in the middle and one to the right or left be best? Incase others want to sit in the back? Thanks!

  • We used Infasecure- they’re convertable so you can use right up to age 7 when they don’t need it anymore. They also have great colours! We had a car seat either side and left the middle spot free. Of course if you need to move one into the middle you can, but it’s easier than having to reach over to undo the belt from the middle seat.

  • I would just google for the best option and ask for specialist advice when needed

  • Some are very over priced. I’d be checking the safety issues on line first as you can good ones even at Big W etc.

  • Good luck on your quest. There are so many car seats out there, but some are specifically designed for whatever car you have, so maybe look at them first.

  • I would check out the safety ratings on the page attached to this link https://www.childcarseats.com.au/find-and-compare-child-car-seats#/results/0,1,2,3/0,1/-/-
    It depends on your vehicle.

  • I have mine on either side

  • I’ve had a Britax and a Maxi Cosi and loved both. Personally, I’d go to Baby Bunting and see what they recommend for your car.

I had my twins first, and had a car seat on either side (not in the middle).

  • I loved the Britax brand, it has so many safety features and you can get great slimline models that are very comfortable. I only have one daughter but my friends who had two kids, had the car seats on either side near the windows with a space in the middle.

  • It will depend on your specific car model and year if it’s recommended to have baby seats next to each other or on opposite ends. We love Maxi Cosi car seats, they don’t take up too much room, have great safety ratings, and you can get ones with magnetised buckles and tethering straps that aren’t in the way for easy in and outs. Congratulations!
