  • Lots of good advice . I have used bicarb soda and water for light stains and has worked for me . Yes, never rub but blot the carpet . I wouldnt used chux, last time I did that the blue stripes came off with it !

  • Try use Vanish Preen Oxi Action Carpet Stain Remover.

  • profesional carpet cleaner from a supermarket (hired)

  • dishwashing liquid is usually quite good for this sort of stain

  • I don’t know how, good luck in getting your answer

  • Since lipstick is oil-based, a simple soap that is designed to draw out oils is really all you need. I use dish soap and warm water to lift out lipstick stains without any remnant of the stain remaining in the carpet.

Simply take a cup of warm water (not hot, this melts the lipstick and makes it spread out) and add about a half teaspoon of grease-fighting dish soap to the water and stir it up to get a foamy mixture. Then, dip an old washcloth or a paper towel in the cleaning solution and dab at the lipstick stain to draw out the color and the oil of the stain. Don’t rub the stain, as this will simply spread it and make it more difficult to remove.

Continue blotting at the stain with the dish soap and water until the stain is completely removed. If there are large chunks of lipstick in the stain, use a paper towel to pick up the stain before breaking it up and lifting it out with the dish soap and water solution. This just makes getting rid of the stain easier, as you have less lipstick to work with.

  • I will keep some of the advice handy just in case! Thanks!

  • oh dear – for this one I think I would consult the professionals

  • Oh gosh that’s a tricky one. I would just let it wear off over time.

  • Thanks cherz I think that you have nailed it!

  • I would not attempt to do it myself. I would call my carpet cleaner man as he knows it all.

  • When this happened to me I got a cup of warm water and a good grease fighting dish washing liquid (I used fairy) then wet a cloth and just dab the stain don’t ever rub or scrub at the stain as it will make it worse.
Just keep dabbing it till the stain has gone.

  • I havent been game enough to try it but have been told wd40!!
    Just a suggestion :D

  • Bio carb soda and vinegar !

  • Put some Bi-card soda on the area be generous then spray white vinegar and let it work then wipe

  • Sannon Lush has written a few books about all types of stain removal.

  • Thanks for all the information on this one, will come in handy.

  • great tips!

  • How to Get Lipstick Stains Out of Carpet
Lipstick stains on carpet can be a real mess, particularly if it was one of the kids that smooshed the bright goo all over the place. Since lipstick is oil-based, it can be difficult to remove, but here is the simple method I use to get lipstick stains out of carpet and clothing, no problem.
Since lipstick is oil-based, a simple soap that is designed to draw out oils is really all you need. I use dish soap and warm water to lift out lipstick stains without any remnant of the stain remaining in the kids’ clothes or the carpet that they have happily adorned with all their purple and red dress-up lipsticks.

This method works on even the beige carpet we have in the hallway, where the kids like to dink around with their play makeup the most. I find that the dish soap and the warm water works on eyeshadow and mascara stains as well, on both the walls and carpeting. For clothes, the blotting method works as well, and then washing the clothes on a warm or cool wash draws out remaining color without setting it.

  • You’re welcome Shazzbot. I also have a hard floor steam
Mop with a carpet glide that I use only for spot cleaning on a heavy traffic area where there is a dark mark or stain etc. I use the same method as Christial suggests. My friend does house cleaning and move out cleans as a side job and recommends pouring some of your carpet shampooer solution directly onto the stain (as well as using it in the carpet washer) and then waiting a few
Minutes and then wash it with your carpet washer. I have never tried this method, but sure I will. I’m glad I could be helpful :)
