Hello!

We’re moving to the central coast end of year and I’ve had a hard time trying to figure out what schools to enroll my boys into. I need advice on good primary school and high school please. Thank you in advance

  • I hope you manage to find one that suits you

  • Sorry I am in Adelaide n can’t help with recommending

  • A lot of useful information best of Luck

  • I’ve had a lot to do with Green Point Christian College – great school!

  • Try the myschool website, or even try a local ‘mums and bubs’ Facebook page if you can find one. You might be able to get some more localised information

  • depending where abouts on the central coast, public schools are zoned for different suburbs. have a look on the internet for surrounding schools where you are moving to and try to contact them all via email for info packs.

  • It depends on a lot of factors, like which part of the Coast you’re moving to (it’s a big place!) , whether you want private or public school, how much you wish to spend on school fees etc. Going purely off reputation for private schools, southern end of the Coast Central Coast Grammar school (K-12) at Erina is good (private) as is Gosford Selective High school (7-12). Northern end of Coast Mary MacKillop School (K-12) is good & Lakes Grammar (k-6 I think). Of course there are many good public schools also but it depends on where you are moving to.

  • depends where you settle, there are very few ‘undesirable’ schools these days, even our local Wyoming public was once a ‘bad’ school now it is great… there is a montessori school, several Catholic and Christian schools and of course heaps of public primary and high schools, it depends on your children’s interests and personalities…

  • Would it help to google the schools and get acquainted with THIER ideas philosophies goals and mission?

  • Abbey Gilbert can you help

  • What’s wrong with narara public?? Who cares about a schools reputation..every child is different and will fit into each school differently. I say just find an area u like and enrol in the local school.

  • When I lived at Erina on the central coast we were lucky enough to have my two enrolled in the 7th day Adventist school….we are not religious in any way to any church.. But the school has beautiful morals and standards for our kids and it was a pleasure to be part of that family…we were only there two years before we moved to the Gold Coast xx

  • I live in Avoca Beach. Have many teacher friends and am stidying a masters in teaching which involves spending time in schools on the Coast. Don’t go to Narara, Gosford or Henry Kendall. Gosford primary just got moved to the same site as Henry Kendall high – the site is too small and the high school is exceptionally rough.
I DO recommend in public – Chertsy primary (located in Springfield), Terrigal primary, and Ourimbah and Lisarow primary have great reputations. Avoca beach has one of the best reps on the coast. In private I recommend st Phillips at Narara, and if money isn’t an option then you can’t go past central coast grammar school.
    Good luck!

  • Really love kanwal!!!!!

  • My sisters kids go to a little jillaby school, it’s adorable but not sure if you will be living around there

  • Your local public school, primary or secondary, will be great, and they teach the value of inclusion and acceptance, not exclusion and division.

  • As others have said what part of the central coast??

  • I was thinking the same. What area?

  • Central Coast is a large area. What suburb?

  • Which areas? Public or private?
