My second bub is due in November and I’m uncertain whether I want to try breastfeeding again. With my first child I really struggled and had all sorts of issues, the least of which was attachment. As a first time mum I kind of just went along with what the midwives were advising me, which was of course to persevere and as long as you feed bub when she wants she’ll be fine. But 6 weeks in she was still way under her birth weight and was so unhappy. The moment we started comp feeding, she put on 350g in a week and after that we switched to formula. She was the happiest baby after that and still is! I had no idea at the time I was starving my child. I’m really struggling with that at the moment and wonder whether it’s worth it? Should I try with breastfeeding again? I understand pros and cons of both options, but if any other mums have had similar issues I’d love to hear your views.
