Hello!

I’d love some advice/opinions on the contraceptive pill called Yaz Flex. I’ve recently been prescribed this pill after years on Diane. I’ve since heard some alarming side effects caused by Yaz such as stroke and heart attack and wanted to know if anyone has experienced or heard the same. What are some side effects of the contraceptive pill?

  • Everyone reacts differently, so best thing you could do is see your doctor.

  • hmm id see a gp – people can have different effects so its hard to compare

  • I suffer from side affects from most contraceptive pills. I have been on yaz but not yaz flex. Everyone reacts differently to different pills. From other contraceptive pills I have had moodiness and bigger, sore breasts to the point the pain caused me to cease the pill. Your hormones also change as when I was young I was able to take just about any pill without or with minimal side affects. The most noticeable side affects whilst taking the pill have been in later years post my sons birth. My last resort may be to try the copper iud. I’m just one person though and there are many ladies out there able to take the pill without issue.

  • Those side effects seem extreme & more than side effects. I would do lots of research into this before taking it, me personally would opt for something else but I fell pregnant on the pill 🙂

  • I was on Yaz and I was fine but I felt it made my skin worse

  • This maybe the pill that was on a current affairs as it caused a well known celeb to have the same side effects, its a dangerous pill get off it now is my advice and check out the storey on Current Affairs

  • It is really hard to judge based on another’s side effects- every drug will affect every person differently..unfortunately theres no way of knowing for sure

  • Different people do different things not all side effects relate to one person… Best person to talk to if worried is your dr

  • weight gain is one of the side effects as well as skin discolouration

  • Different people have different side effects, it can be a matter of trial and error. all meds have some risk, so speak to your dr about your concerns

  • I had horrible side effects from a lot of different brands of the pill..bloating, headaches, severe cramping, diarrhoea, erratic bleeding etc and I put up with it for years (thinking that contraception with horrible side effects was better than no contraception) and low and behold I still fell pregnant! I would approach your gyno about alternative contraception options.

  • There are al many different pills that you can take

  • Great question, thanks for posting this! I was wondering aswell 🙂

  • I guess I will be seen as bad but I don’t take the pill anymore. I can’t stand the thought of what it is and how bad it is for the body

  • I got pregnant while using the pill….TWICE. My doctor says i am the most fertile person he knows. Now i am on the Mirena & have loved it so far. Its been just over a year since i had it put in.

  • I was on the pill for a few years and after awhile I started getting headaches when I got my period. My doc said it was estrogen withdrawls and changed me to the depo.

  • I got really bad diarrhoea and vomiting on The Pill. I had to stop taking it. It also gave me bad anxiety.

  • I am on Yazmin, which is similar. I have had headaches and that’s about it. Other than that, my experience has been positive.

  • i would talk to your doctor if you have any concerns with it.

  • It all depends on what contraceptive pill you take.
