Hello!

I’d love some advice/opinions on the contraceptive pill called Yaz Flex. I’ve recently been prescribed this pill after years on Diane. I’ve since heard some alarming side effects caused by Yaz such as stroke and heart attack and wanted to know if anyone has experienced or heard the same. What are some side effects of the contraceptive pill?

  • Look into hormone-free, all natural methods like Billings Ovulation Method, or read Taking Charge ofYour Fertility. There are only 6 days of possible fertility every month-every other day is infertile. All you need is simple observations, pen and paper.People are going organic, hormone-free, but women have been brainwashed into flooding their bodies with synthetic hormones.

  • I’ve heard the same and have friends of friends that are currently dealing with nasty side effects. I tried taking it and am glad I stopped it made me so emotional I was nearly diagnosed with pnd!! I would never ever recommend it to anyone.

  • I am on Yaz and have been for a few years and I think it’s awesome. No side affects that I am aware of. I think I’m still the same crazy lady I was whilst off it. I think my hubby would agree haha

  • Yasmin also has increased risk of depression…. made mine unmanageable

  • All contraceptives effect different people differently. I can take none of them. Levelin ED worked for a year and a half before I started bleeding constantly. The micro lute and progesterone based ones did the same thing every 2 to 3 days I would bleed. Implanon NXT made me bleed constantly for 12 months and then when I had it removed it had folded in on its self and I required 4 stitches. So now I can’t take anything due to too many side effects.

  • I’ve been on Yasmin for 8 years now with no problems *knocks on wood

  • There was a story on this with one of the current affair shows in the last month. I was prescribed it but never really took it. The doctor told me it was one that helped with not gaining weight.

  • I took Yasmin for a while (the ‘sister’ pill) and didn’t have any problems. It didn’t do anything for me however in regards to regulating my periods and easing any pain so I was put not Levlen ED. Currently I am not taking anything in order to ‘see how I go’ as I have been taking the pill fairly continuously since I was around 14, I am now 20 and need a break to reset my system.

  • Ok firstly every contraceptive pill has the same risk factor, I have my 16 year old daughter on Yaz due to horrible painful periods, I remember way back when I was on the pill the same warnings were there. My hubby was so concerned about it due to what has been in the news, so I took her back to our GP to discuss this, we talked for 35 minutes on the pros and cons, finishing with the comment, his own daughter is on the same one. I trust my GP implicitly and as I am friends with his wife and kids, I know there is no way he would put his daughter in jeopardy ! The media hype like always is always something that scares people, do your research , ALL contraceptives have the same risk !

  • All contraceptive pills have the same potential side effects, particularly increased risk of blood clots. Read the pamphlets that come inside any medication ladies, even if your doc explains it!

  • I was on it and now have a blood clot! (Which was 6cm long in my arm) i have had no prior health issues and was very fit and heslthy. I’d advise getting tested for genetic clotting disorders in particular factor five leiden prior to deciding to go on I any pill!!! I have so far had to take 8 months off of work, had to inject myself twice daily with blood thinning drugs and i am now on blood thinners possibly for life.

  • I took it a few years ago, made me crazy (hormonal, excessive mood swings). Never had problems on any other pill.

  • Hi I was on Yasmin which is one of the ones listed and I got off as I startrd getting chronic headaches and chest pains when working out,

  • Don’t take Yaz!!!

  • I was talking about this with girls at training…5 out of around 12 of us had been on it and felt like we were emotional wrecks!!! I personally felt like a basket case!!!

  • I had dramas with all except zoeley. Still exxy, but you would be used to paying that.

  • Every pill basically has same side effects

  • I’m on yaz flex and am really happy with it. ALL contraceptive pills carry a risk of stroke and clots.

  • I’ve been on it for 2 years. Dr just took me off yesterday.. I’m going back on Levlen also 🙂

  • I’m pretty sure most pills have the side effect of possible stroke. I was taken off the pill because my migraines affect my eyes and having that paired with the pill (all kinds) is a higher risk of stoke.
