Hello!

I’d love some advice/opinions on the contraceptive pill called Yaz Flex. I’ve recently been prescribed this pill after years on Diane. I’ve since heard some alarming side effects caused by Yaz such as stroke and heart attack and wanted to know if anyone has experienced or heard the same. What are some side effects of the contraceptive pill?

  • Both Diane and Yaz were discussed on Today Tonight recently for their link with blood clots. Check out the story fro more info: http://www.todaytonightadelaide.com.au/stories/yaz-pill-update

  • Both the Diane pill and Yaz were both on the news a few times recently because of their very dangerous side affects which Bayer medical group don’t advise of.

  • That was on a current affair or today tonight its bad news im also on levlen ed and no problems 🙂

  • Have not shave ^

  • all contraceptive pills have the risk of stroke , heart attack and seizures as well as other side effects so its probably the same just different name ‘

  • I was prescribed Yaz after years on Diane too, I had debilitating migraines for the first time ever in my life, told the dr and he took me off it straight away. Side effects differ for everyone though, you need to listen to your body and find a dr you can work with

  • I shave had two friends try and come off it in the last week due to excessive bleeding body pains and general unwellness
Something to do with the amount if estrogen

  • Get off it now!!! A girlfriends sister in law was on it her doc told her she was fine, she is now in hospital with clots in her lungs 🙁

  • Don’t know of them…. I would change. I am on monofeme… It’s great and I have no side affects

  • I have heard bad things about all yaz pills, I’d probably ask for something different. I’m on levlen ED which I’ve has no probs with

  • Not sure about that exact brand of contraceptive pill, but if you read the leaflet that comes in the pill’s box, it will give you a list of common and also rare side effects. All contraceptive pills have them. I developed a rare side effect on the pill- a blood clot but i know many others who have been fine. Weigh up your options and discuss with GP

  • I have not heard of it but saw you had no posts, so thought perhaps you should look it up on the internet get some responses to the drug. I would chat with your doctor to tell them your concerns and see why they changed the one you were on. There are lots of alternatives too. Your doctor should go through these with you.
