  • Role model eating vegetables. Raw sliced veges are exciting and colourful. Green and red capsicums. Carrots in julienne strips. Broccoli can be trees and you’re a giant eating them. a platter with dip for the raw vege in a corn relish dip or spring onion dip. Make it fun and crunchy.

  • I just introduced veggies (pureed) right from the start and have never had a problem.

  • Theres no easy answer as kids really hate healthy food, of course where junk food is always tastier due to so much sugar etc in them . Having said that .. I found feeding the kids or having meals when they are hungry as they say , if you are hungry wont you eat anything .

  • I’m lucky my boys love their fruit & veg.
My parents however had quite a hassle trying to get me to eat my veg.
So Mum disguised it in other foods & I rarely noticed!
Or had my older cousins tell me how yummy it was, not wanting to be left out I followed along, no matter how bad they tasted!!!

  • What interesting comments read on this! Thanks

  • Usually hide them in other foods or if all else fails bribery lol

  • Put it in everything to get added veg, e.g. you can put zucchini in choc muffins, spinich in smoothies, pumpkin or sweet potato in cakes.

  • just make them used to them from an early age, both my daughters get everything we eat so they are use to eating and enjoying their fruit and vegetables.

  • when mine will not eat theirs I eat mine and saw how wonderful it and so yummy – soon enough she wants to try it in case she is missing out on something good

  • We lead by example. We don’t force them to eat anything. We don’t offer alternatives. They do however have to eat all of their dinner to get dessert, which is offered on some nights after they are 3yrs old.

  • My little one actually picks at his veggies with his fingers so I just cut them up into pea sizes!

  • Disguise is often the easiest way. Fritters are winners too.

  • If they don’t like them don’t make them eat them just get some vitamins to replace them and make sure they have fruit and fibre in there diet. Kids tastes buds change so if they don’t eat them now they will most likely love them when they are older.

  • there are some good comments here

  • I am thankful that both my kids love their vegies and want veggies every night with their meals. hiding them is a good way though, that way they are getting the nutrients without tasting them.

  • Involve them in growing things even it is only in a few pots. My kids would often end up eating the vegies raw straight from the garden

  • Can not inspire – have to hide them in things

  • The blog has some cute ways to make fruit and vegies look like animals etc.

  • Lol, as kids they were great, as teens fussy, one loves potato, the other hates it

  • We just make sure we serve him a range of different foods, and role model eating it. We’re very lucky our toddler just isn’t fussy (at this stage!)
