Pool party maybe. Pizza party. Old McDonalds Farm party. Grab their favourite story books and see if you can find inspiration in them. Minions party would be popular at the moment, as is Frozen and super heroes seems to be used a lot too
My daughter had an African Drumming Circle when she turned 6 (we called it a “Musical Princess Party” on the invites!!!) – there were 12 girls all dressed in pink and some with fairy wings and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Still heaps of dancing and even some musical bop games. The drummers brought djembe drums for all children to use. 3 years on and people still talk about what an excellent party it was. We are not alternative in any way and live very normal inner city life. Just wanted something different.
I love planning parties! What do the kids enjoy doing? playing? favourite animals? Make a list and see if it helps with a theme?
I love a jungle/animal party with dress ups, food and games.
A space themed party with space foods and games.
A superhero party with dress ups and games.
There should be plenty of cheap props and treats for some of these themes from thrift shops. The list of ideas is endless…let your imagination run wild! Maybe look at some of their favourite books for ideas too. Have buckets of fun planning!
